Karl Kraft[edit]

Thanks for taking care of the vandalism in the Champions League. I was about to, but you took care of it.

Lex Schoenmaker[edit]

Yes I did, there was no need to write the year 'XXXX' as simply 'XX', WP:FOOTBALL discourage it. GiantSnowman 14:13, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps I was hasty in reverting rather than editing; apologies. Also, please do not remove comments from a Talk page. GiantSnowman 14:22, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Frank Stapleton[edit]

Sorry, yes it was that one and only simple reason. I took out "retired" as per concensus made by WP:FOOTY members at WT:FOOTY. The years of his career should make it obvious he is retired, and the lead of the article should also say retired or former or something similar. Peanut4 (talk) 16:48, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Former professionals (any ex-pro who plays for a non-League club is notable in relative terms). пﮟოьεԻ 57 21:33, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fasach Nua[edit]

Where exactly am I supposed to comment on that page? I never actually seen a request for comment page before. I would like to comment but I don't know where lol. Please help! Hubschrauber729 (talk) 02:44, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Probably start one at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Fasach Nua 2. I don't know much about RfCs either, and I've never contributed much to one, let alone start one. x42bn6 Talk Mess 18:11, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll have a look a bit later. Cheers! BanRay 20:05, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide evidence that Evra played forty times for Nice? – PeeJay 16:05, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. The Sky Sports Football Yearbook (formerly Rothmans Football Yearbook) does not provide a bibliography, but it is probably the single most reliable book on English football that money can buy. – PeeJay 18:07, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would definitely agree with you there. Good sleuthing :) – PeeJay 17:43, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi mate, if you consider something to be "poorly written", please correct it, rather than simply delete it. Mongoletsi (talk) 18:22, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you keep changing his place of birth? he was born in Mannheim not Sanliurfa he has no connection with Sanliurfa whatsoever so can you please stop changing it? want proof?

Honours[edit]

Thanks for the note about Peter Shilton - my edit was made late at night and I didn't give a lot of thought to the edit summary, but just used one I'd used previously. There isn't any convention about how "Honours" should be formatted and there is nothing in the manual of style. I did bring this up at WT:FOOTY (here but there were so few replies you could not claim a consensus view. I think the format I use is clearer, but don't really have the time to expand on my reasons - If you want to revert my changes, I'm not going to argue. Cheers. --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:16, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coupe de la Ligue template[edit]

With the white-out portion being unseen, it gives the impression that it is unbalanced.

Avoiding redirects[edit]

You might want to read WP:R2D: in summary, there is little need to fix redirects; it just clogs up page histories (and my watchlist). Regards. Woody (talk) 14:33, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, it is full with other stuff as well at the moment, just wanted to highlight that you are doing a lot of work for little output and there is a guideline written on it. That guideline is disputed and often discussed though, which is why I thought I would make you aware of it, and you can make your own choice. Regards. Woody (talk) 14:40, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Giggs[edit]

Hey- sorry about that. No, i believe you are completely correct, and I was completely mistaken. Good catch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rms869 (talkcontribs) 02:12, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Steve Bruce & flags[edit]

Basically, because their use in that table runs counter to the relevant section of the MoS. Point 2 reads "Flag icons may be appropriate as a visual navigational aid in tables, infoboxes or lists provided that citizenship, nationality or jurisdiction is intimately tied to the topic at hand". I don't really see that the nationality of those football clubs is intimately tied to the topic at hand, but maybe it could be argued. But they definitely contravene the bit that says flags "should always be accompanied by their country names at least once": see MOS:ICON#Accompany flags with country names. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 21:58, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Harry Kewell[edit]

I see that you almost cleared Galatasaray section.

First of all, use the discussion facility before you remove anything.

What is the criteria for removing some games and details in the article but letting the rest remain?

Galatasaray winning all of the matches he scored, or how much he is supported by fans, should be on that page.

Ballon d'Or[edit]

Cannavro, in November 2006, was a footballplayer of Real Madrid, as Ronaldo in 2002 and Figo in 2000.

So the Balon d'Or 2006 was won by a footballplayer of Real Madrid (and not of Juventus), as in 2002 (and not by a footballplayer of Inter), as in 2000 (and not by a footballplyer of FC Barcelona). Ok?

Matthews Image[edit]

It's not free use so it can only be used on his article, that came up in the peer review so best to leave it out. NapHit (talk) 22:43, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Shilton[edit]

Thanks for cleaning up my Shilton stats table. I'm still a bit of a Wiki newbie. Glad all the info is on there now though, it was annoying me. joebloggsy (joebloggsy) —Preceding undated comment was added at 16:04, 27 December 2008 (UTC).[reply]
