Hello Feminine Geeks and Feminists

Welcome to my user page. Currently I am a researcher with two contracts at two different organizations in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I'm a libra, focused, determined, and very diplomatic.

I AM a feminist. Women-centred. Proud to have a yoni.

I have many areas of interest but the main interest for me is making my community a better place to live by working very hard. I want my sisters to have the best care they possibly can. I want my brothers to have it too but for now I think women need it more as we've never had it! I mean, the fact that we had to fight to get to vote is a sign that we STILL have much more work to do to make this world have space for us, since it is run by men.

The second area I am concerned with is women who use drugs and their experiences with Primary Health Care. What happens to women after they walk in the door of a clinic to see a doctor? What is it like for her? What could be made better for her? Does she get the help she needs? Or does she feel like she wasn't understood or heard?

The women I am most concerned about are women who are further marginalized by poverty, drugs, and prostitution. These are the women who are at risk of further health problems and disease if not treated respectfully and comprehensively.

The third area that I am involved in personally is the way methadone is prescribed and governed by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons. I stumbled upon this kind of haphazardly but it is an area that I am passionate about. I especially want some sort of accountable body to be created that can address patients concerns regarding this drug.

On a lighter note I am taking the time to contribute to Wiktionary. I have a lot of underground slang from the Downtown Eastside of British Columbia, Canada that I feel needs to be put in the dictionary. That's another side project.

I have so many interests and little side projects that it's good to stop here.
