The Gigabyte M912 (also called the Gigabyte Netbook M912x) is a subnotebook tablet computer designed by Gigabyte Technology (Gigabyte). It was first announced at the 2008 Computex [1], but is still listed as "coming soon" on their web site. The M912 features an 8.9", LED backlit, WXGA (1280x768) touch screen display that swivels and opens 180°, and can be operated in either clamshell laptop mode, or tablet mode. Storage will consist of one 2.5" hard drive, ranging in size from 120GB to 250GB. Pricing has not yet been released officially.

It will feature the new Intel Atom 45-nm processors running at 1.6 GHz. Also featured is Bluetooth, WLAN and a 1.3MP camera. The M912 is seen as Gigabyte's response to the successful ASUS Eee PC, and is positioned to be the first tablet netbook in the market. It will feature full support for Linux, Windows XP, and Window Vista.

Future models[edit]

MSI plans to release an 8.9" version, but not for the US market.[2]. MSI also is currently working on a new UMPC that is smaller, thinner than the current version. MSI stated that the next Wind will have similar components (including the Intel Atom processor), but it is aimed for business people. The new generation Wind is expected to be on sale in Q1 of 2009. The exact price is unknown. [3]

A desktop Wind PC (nettop) is also in development.[4]
