hello - favor - please[edit]

Hi - a few month ago (you wouldn't remember) we had a talk about page Chaim Walkin, which at the end was confirmed and ok. I asked you then to please delete the page with the talk we had, since every search on google brings up [at the second results!] that this page what deleted. [look it up and see]. can I ask a personal [yes, personal, for a change..] to delete the talk about it? he's my rabbi and I would like very much [out of respect] to have this talk delete. you can find it in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Chrislk02/archive12#Deletion_of_the_page_of_Chaim_Walkin [number 1.8]. and [what else...] please delete this talk also. thanks a million. maybe you won't understand but it means a lot to me. --Korach (talk) 21:41, 20 October 2009 (UTC) [sorry if I placed this request in the wrong place].

test[edit]

Hmm. It starts at bottom. – B.hoteptalk• 15:11, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Yea, it can be confusing. when I realized that I added a comment to the top askin them to post at the bottom. thanks for checking. (I think part of the confusion came from the fact that I just cleared my talk page). Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 15:12, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Congrats! [1]B.hoteptalk• 18:30, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! its good to see you around here. been a long time since the old days of vandal fighting!
There's a lot more "young pups" around here nowadays doing the exact same thing we did – maybe even a little better! ;) – B.hoteptalk• 18:33, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

←Hate to sound like your sterotypical "old man" who "walked uphill both ways to school, barefoot in the snow," but with all the automated tools and abuse filters they have now, man, AIV is so much easier. I used to do it ALL without any tool at all! Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 19:39, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm hearing you, man! And it was more fun, eh? – B.hoteptalk• 19:44, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Gustaf Hammarsten[edit]

Don't delete a new article just becouse you don't understand it. That is a famous Swedish actor who has starred in many films and now makes his international debute in the 2009 film Brüno (film)... ! Put it back! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bronks (talkcontribs)

Do you think I am lying, makeing everything up? Here is the imdb: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0358390/

As you will see some of his films already have entries on wikipedia, such as: Together (2000 film) and Illusive Tracks

The fact that he is in Bruno, where he plays Bruno's sidekick or "assistant" was annonced today in Sweden's leading morningpaper (Dagens Nyheter: http://www.dn.se/kultur-noje/film-tv/aktuell-i-sacha-baron-cohen-filmen-bruno-1.890119

If you don't read Swedish, use google translator.

Also, please don't delete sourced entries. Adding his name to the cast list of Brüno was clearly sourced!

Bronks (talk) 15:35, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

the IMDB link you provided does not list him as an actor in bruno. YOu provided no references in your addition to the bruno article. I do not realy care what some swedish newspaper says, we are going to need serveral reliable sources. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 15:55, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Even if you claim that Dagens Nyheter is not good enough proof to have him mentioned in the Bruno film article, there is still no reason why Gustaf Hammarsten shouldn't have his own entry. In fact it is overdue: He is clearly a well know actor, some of his films (although swedish) have entries on english wiki, and if you look at the poster for Illusive Tracks you will see that his face is in the middle of the poster and that his name is mentioned first. I insist that you reestablish the Gustaf Hammarsten entry.

Bronks (talk) 16:22, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

    • Ok, here is the issue. I a.) do not act because somebody insists that I do. b.) The article in the state it was written was not acceptable baesd on our standards. My recommendation is that you create a sandbox and work on the article there. Find a variety of references (not just pictures in a poster). I will say from his IMDB profile that i am a bit skeptical but that is OK (note that having an IMDB profile does not establish notability enough for inclusion). If you recreate it with reliable sources and assert his notability it will probably remain. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 16:59, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
      • It does seem to me that A7 was inappropriate for this article, as there was a clear assertion of notability -- starring role in a film we have an article for. Might I suggest undeleting it and either giving the creator time for cleanup, or taking it straight to AfD if you're that sure he's non-notable? --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 14:41, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

sv:Gustaf Hammarsten is a famous Swedish actor. Please recreate the article and then we can remove any unappropriate material. Jacob Lundberg (talk) 22:51, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

        • If I write an article that I am the star of a movie, and i get a friend of mine who is a blog writer for some site to put it on his blog, by that rationale, my article should stand. A, this was a living person and b, there was no credible assertion of notability. If another admin wants to undelete it, I will not object, I however would rather not. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 14:47, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
          • Thank you: I have undeleted it and added a link to his Variety Profile. I will see if I can get a bit more in there without needing to use references I can't read... --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 16:36, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
            • I hope there was no offense taken on your behalf at my unwillingness to delete. I trust your judgement and if you think it is right, I have no reason to argue it. I just tend to err more on the side of caution in protecting that validity of content here. Thanks for taking the time to review this and good luck! Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 17:16, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

← BTW, are you a mason or are you just involved in the wikiproject? (if you don't mind my asking) Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 19:34, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

"I just tend to err more on the side of caution in protecting that validity of content here." !oot eM (noting the talk on List of Freemasons. It should be more difficult to get on such a list than to be taken off. kcylsnavS{screechharrass} 15:14, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Can You Help?[edit]

This article seems to have a lot of staements and no refrences. I have checked the links added and they lead to Punjabi Alphabet sites or sites that have no relevance to the claims. I think I used the wrong tag before, but the article really is of poor quality. What can be done?--Sikh-history (talk) 17:56, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Submit it for deletion at Articles for deletion. Be sure to make your case in the opening. This lets the community review and make a decision. Hope this helps. If you need any help with this, please let me know (note I prob wont be on much over this weekend but I should be back on monday). Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 18:29, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Inequity[edit]

Hi. Could I suggest you either remove or edit the first sentence in your recent edit? The only way of getting some justice done for John will be with the cooperation of the Arbitrators—something your opening remark is unlikely to facilitate. Thanks for lending some weight to the issue. Cheers,  HWV258  04:35, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of page for Darryl Anka[edit]

Chris, I see you are a longstanding contributor and editor here. With all respect, I am trying to help some folks who would like to see information added to Wikipedia on Darryl Anka. You apparently are the one who deleted the page. I understand the general goals of wikipedia and would like to assist in creating a proper page for Darryl if that is at all possible. Please let me know what the issues were with the initial article submission and how I might be able to help bring it up to standards.

For your assistance, while he may be a bit of a fringe character, he has two published books and an extensive collection of audio and video works available which span over 20 years, and a website, of course.

Thanks in advance for your assistance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DanEagle (talkcontribs) 20:49, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Y'ello![edit]

Are you with us then? :) – B.hoteptalk• 20:18, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

I'ma here. I am preparing for a big move. Today is my last day of full time work, this weekend is my last time hanging out with my friends here and next week Ileave for the big ole state of texas. All my stuff is packed and my time is taken. I am really looking forward to getting to Texas because I will hopefully have a lot more time to write articles (and what better way to make use of $1,000 worth of textbooks then use them as citations!). Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 13:04, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Excellent. Look forward to your full-time appearance! Providing I'm still here by then. :) – B.hoteptalk• 14:53, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
do you have plans of leaving? Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 19:42, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
No, but you never do know what will happen. ;) I might start going full-time at es.wikipedia. It was just me being enigmatic... :) – B.hoteptalk• 19:45, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! File source problem with File:Cessna silverwing 1911.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Cessna silverwing 1911.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:40, 23 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Masur (talk) 11:40, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Request for Participation in Wikipedia Research[edit]

Chrislk02,

Your Request for Adminship (RfA) process was reviewed and studied by our research team at Carnegie Mellon University early in our project to gain insights into the process. We reviewed what voters discussed about your case, and what qualifications you brought to the table as a candidate. In total 50 cases were personally read and reviewed, and we based our further research questions in part on your case.

In continuing our research, I would like to personally invite you to participate in a survey we are conducting to get perspective from people who have participate in the RfA process. The survey will only take a few minutes of your time, and will aid furthering our understanding of online communities, and may assist in the development of tools to assist voters in making RfA evaluations. We are NOT attempting to spam anyone with this survey and are doing our best to be considerate and not instrusive in the Wikipedia community. The results of this survey are for academic research and are not used for any profit nor sold to any companies. We will also post our results back to the Wikipedia community.

This survey is part of an ongoing research project by students and faculty at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science and headed by Professor Robert Kraut.

Take the survey

Thank you!

Placing a NOINDEX tag on one of your talk page archives[edit]

Hello.

I will be placing a {{NOINDEX}} tag on one of your talk page archives, if you do not mind. There is a discussion about an AfD, the article was kept, on that page which comes up when google searching the subject. The subject's family has contacted the Wikipedia:Volunteer response team requesting that we do what we can to prevent that from showing up on google, as it is causing the family emotional distress. If it were the AfD page itself, we often courtesy-blank the page, but as this is your talk page, I'd rather try something that does not require deleting content and conversation that may be important to you, yet help the family. if you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line or contact me via e-mail. Thank you. -- Avi (talk) 16:30, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Lee M. Hollander[edit]

I see you deleted Lee M. Hollander as "non-notable professor." I never saw the article, so it may well have been non-notable, but I do not believe Lee M. Hollander is himself non-notable. He is a translator of several classic Icelandic works including The Poetic Edda and Heimskringla; both of these are still standard editions and in-print. He also translated at least one Icelandic saga and authored the book The Skalds and several scholarly articles on skaldic verse. He is therefore a significant source and authority on Eddic verse, Skaldic verse, medieval Norse historiography, and Icelandic saga.Phil wink (talk) 23:24, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
