Adding images to a category[edit]

I noticed that some of the files (example File:Anas-americana-004.jpg) show up in Special:UncategorizedFiles. I suggest that we add a category to the template so thay all the POTD-files end up in a category. That would make it easier to see the files and it would also help us keep Special:UncategorizedFiles empty. --MGA73 (talk) 11:03, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Change wording for future POTDs[edit]

Should we change the wording of the template to say something like "This image will appear on Wikipedia's Main Page as picture of the day" (copying wording from {{Article history}}? It would be more accurate and grammatical. feminist (talk) 12:36, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
