Bias[edit]

Yes, the lyrics are pretty degrading to women in 2010, but this song came out in the 1960s. This article is displaying needless bias and should corrected to be more neutral. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.72.56.245 (talk) 15:58, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the chunk that was added on at the end. I suspect the sentiment is common though, so if someone can find a reliable source, it probably should be added. I just don't have the time to hunt it down myself. 66.108.6.53 (talk) 17:23, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Though the lyrics may be "pretty degrading to women in 2010" (which w/o reference or citation is only your personal view), they are what they are and there is no "needless bias" which needs to be corrected.

To unacknowledge the 1960s is rewriting history and ignoring known & historical fact. Something that an encyclopedia should never do.

Though history may offend people, that is no reason to ignore, rewrite, revision, or PC it out of existence.

"Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it."

Theme ?[edit]

Wasn't the melody/tune (without words) used as a theme somewhere?

It seems very familiar to me, but I can't quite place it.

Just curious. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 10:40, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Many Versions not Listed[edit]

There are many versions of this song that are not listed and maybe should be as they are recorded by major artists. Some that appear to be missing: - Wayne Newton - Ella Fitzgerald - The King's Singers - Lawrence Welk - Stan Getz

and many many others.
