Reading from Dr. Seuss[edit]

Anyone read why Stipe flubs the line and laughs? Is that ever explained in the liner notes or a Rolling Stone interview? --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 00:29, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know. I love this song, and that little laugh is possibly my favorite part. MeerkatKing52 (talk) 18:57, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Call me when you try to wake her ?[edit]

The article says that he sings "Call me when you try to wake her" instead of "Calling Jamaica". And I don't know why, the information is retaken on every lyrics' websites.
Is there someone who hear so much words? I rather think he says "Call me to waker her (up)" or "Calling to wake her (up)". It is really impossible that he says so many words. Maybe the long sentence is about the meaning of it but it's certainly not what he sings.
