Maybe you shouldn't take it so literally. You are taking this from a wikipedia page. It is not going to be perfect in any sense is it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.136.202.147 (talk) 15:56, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where can you find more information on this song in particular, not just Eric Clapton? Hjsoukup (talk) 16:24, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article can be improved by adding a "Writing and Inspiration" subheading. The quote from Will Jennings would also feel like a better fit under this subheading.Rsamreth (talk) 04:43, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A new "Writing and Inspiration" section heading has been added to the article. The "Cover" section has also been expanded with additional song covers recorded by various artists over the years.Rsamreth (talk) 03:57, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I added some links to some cool sites that teach you how to play "Tears in Heaven" on guitar and piano as well as links to some of the covers that play the song. Jacobson13 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tjacobson13 (talkcontribs) 21:48, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hard Rock Cafe Posters[edit]

Should some mention be made of the recent poster series by the Hard Rock Cafe? They have the tagline "There's a story behind every song" and illustrate the events behind certain greatest hits. The poster for Tears in Heaven includes scenes of Conor playing near the open window and his body being loaded on an ambulance (covered in a sheet) as well as graphic images of Clapton intoxicated. It has been criticized as tasteless and exploitive of the tragedy, as well as an inaccurate depiction of how events occured. http://www.slate.com/blogs/blogs/browbeat/archive/2011/05/13/hard-rock-caf-s-tears-in-heaven-poster-awesome-or-appalling.aspx

Unplugged[edit]

The Unplugged version is mentioned twice in the intro paragraph. It needs streamlined. Medleystudios72 (talk) 18:29, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking clarification regarding tsunami/hurricane benefit recording[edit]

I came to the "Tears in Heaven" (TIH) wiki page by following the song title link on the "Hurricane Relief: Come Together Now" (HR:CTN) wiki page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Relief:_Come_Together_Now) because I wanted to see if there was a full listing of the song personnel as that page only mentions "Various Artists". I was surprised to learn the fact that though the song was included on "HR:CTN" it is not mentioned in the "Other Performances" section of the "TIH" page. I am wondering if these are the same version released for separate disaster charities or if there are enough changes to the line-up of performers for a second entry to be added.

I own "HR:CTN" and the liner notes in the CD booklet list the following performers: Mary J. Blige, Andrea Bocelli, Phil Collins, Robert Downey Jr., Josh Groban, Elton John, Katie Melua, Kelly Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne, Pink, Gavin Rossdale, Ringo Starr, Gwen Stefani, Steven Tyler, and Velvet Revolver is collectively mentioned as providing the music without mentioning the individual band members (Dave Kushner, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, Slash, & Scott Weiland). The personnel listed on the "TIH" page includes Robbie Williams, who is not listed among the performers from "HR:CTN", while Phil Collins, Gavin Rossdale, Ringo Starr, and three of five members of Velvet Revolver are not mentioned in the list of performers in the "Disasters Emergency Committee's Tsunami Earthquake" version.

If anyone can confirm my findings, please update the "Other Performances" section to reflect the two (apparently) different versions.

Thank you.

Orphaned references in Tears in Heaven[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Tears in Heaven's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
