I only created one page, and didn't copy it as there was no other page to duplicate. Reli source (talk) 20:56, 8 November 2012 Reli source (talk) 20:57, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 1[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.

Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You've Got)Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) – Five of the six references identify it as "You", as does the official video on YouTube. Unreal7 (talk) 23:05, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Move. You is more commonly used than You've, but the actual song title is "Shut Up". So I would consider Shut Up (Amelia Lily song), with the alternate title Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) in the article. Apteva (talk) 04:19, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Shouldn't "and" be lowercased, since the parenthetical is a dependent clause? Powers T 16:13, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • It appears this has been moved to what it should be. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:05, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Shut Up (and Give Me Whatever You Got)Shut Up (Amelia Lily song) – Actual name of the song is "Shut Up". Parentheses are normally used for disambiguation, and the actual name does not include them. Not capitalizing "And" deviates from sources.[1] Apteva (talk) 02:46, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Survey[edit]

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's policy on article titles.
  • Oppose. The song is called "Shut Up (and Give Me Whatever You Got)" and so should be named as such (see [2] and [3]). 82.132.139.250 (talk) 17:24, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Any additional comments:
  • Some song titles do include parenthetical continuations or subtitles or alternative titles. Parentheses are not used solely for disambiguation on Wikipedia. Powers T 17:10, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Shut Up (and Give Me Whatever You Got)Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) – The word 'and' is capitalised in this consensus: it is at the start of an open bracket Hadji87 (talk) 10:47, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per MOS:CT (For titles with subtitles or parenthetical phrases, capitalize as if they were separate titles (e.g. "(Don't Fear) The Reaper").). --BDD (talk) 16:28, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
