Possible Rip-Off of other song[edit]
Is there any documentation that "Ruby" by the Kaiser Chiefs was ripped from "Brother Louie" by Morning Talking?? If so it should be noted in this article, but is a serious stretch. I would rather like to note that I'm convinced I've heard the "intro" before. I mean the first bit of the song. Anyone know what song I mean? I'm pretty amazed, noone else has seemed to notice. Aha! A pedant after my own heart! But no, not here. In the title, "Kaiser Chiefs" is being used as an attribute of "song", rather like an adjective, and not as a genitive. In the same way we'd probably use "Space Oddity (David Bowie song)" rather than "Space Oddity (David Bowie's song)" There's an elided "a/the" ("Space Oddity" (a/the David Bowie song)". We do this all the time in English. Other examples..."the BBC programme 'Dr. Who'", rather than "the BBC's programme 'Dr. Who'". Perfectly legitimate. Hundovir (talk) 20:49, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
Just another thought: "Kaiser Chiefs song"/"David Bowie song" is answering the question, "What sort of song is it?" Whereas "Kaiser Chiefs' song"/"David Bowie's song" is answering the question, "Whose song is it?" Each answer is legitimate for its appropriate question. Hundovir (talk) 10:13, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
