Fair use rationale for Image:PinkCadillacSingleCover.jpeg[edit]

Image:PinkCadillacSingleCover.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

metaphor for sexual activity[edit]

this kind of interpretation absolutely must be sourced. I highly doubt Springsteen offered up this interpretation (If so say when). If this is from some critic it should say so explicitly, and doesn't belong in the introduction, but under a critical interpretation section.

(not to mention it makes no sense.. her body part is too big and uses too much gas..  ?? )

I agree. I've looked extensively and at no point has Springsteen ever said anything supporting that interpretation. It's pure speculation, so I'm removing it entirely. The only innuendo in the song as far as I can tell is when he asks "what it feels like in the back of your pink Cadillac," which is more of a reference to having sex in the car. People also think that Panama by Van Halen is about a prostitute, but no one felt the need to insert their subjective take on it in the article for that song.
The idea of the song is that a pink Cadillac is a very ostentatious vintage car, it's just a creative way of saying that the woman he's singing to is daring and eccentric. The Adam and Eve bit is meant to be absurdist humor (and as the article already says, it's a remnant from a previous version of the song.) 161.97.246.177 (talk) 06:19, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
