O.M. Stull[edit]

O.M. Stull should not be a wikilink. Stull invented the Old Hokie yell and is utterly cool for it, but that's the only thing he's notable for. Any O.M. Stull article would be a pathetic stub that would never grow:

O.M. Stull was a Virginia Tech student of the Class of 1896 who invented the Old Hokie spirit yell.

We're better off not having such an article in the Wikipedia; the Old Hokie article more than covers it. If there are no objections within a couple days, I'm going to dewikify Mr Stull again and create an O.M. Stull redirect back to Old Hokie. Let me know if you have any realistic objections. • Benc • 01:02, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Nope, only unrealistic objections...  :) Who knows, perhaps he was a much more interesting guy and his great great grandchildren might get on and write a big old article about him. You're right that the snippet above represents all that I know about him, which is why it's only a "suggested link" and not a created stub article. (BTW, until yesterday, "Virginia Polytechnic Institute" was also just a suggested link, strangely enough, despite the fact that several pages had linked to it...)
But, point taken. It's fine with me if you want to de-wikify it. I'm not sure that a redirect is necessary, though, since no article currently exists and it's linked to only from Hokies and Old Hokie. Chris 14:15, 31 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a hoo with that "realistic objection" comment. I dewikified Mr Stull, though I would like a little more biographical information about him. Alas, Google has nothing on him other than Old Hokie. • Benc • 18:30, 31 Aug 2004 (UTC)
