Metalcore?[edit]

It features only a few lines that are screamed in a similar style, the instrumentation isn't really reminiscent, and breakdowns are found everywhere. Should we label Metallica a blues band because they at one point had a very strong blues influence? Metalcore is short for metallic hardcore, it's fusion of heavy metal or thrash metal and youth crew. Not all metalcore should have breakdowns. Bands such as Hatebreed and Integrity are considered some earlier metalcore bands and they didn't have breakdowns featured so often. Youth crew is a subgenre of hardcore punk featuring down-tuned bass and guitars very low pitched, low notes and power chords, and may or may NOT have breakdowns. Youth for Today play this genre for sure. Metalcore fused metal and hardcore(primarily youth crew) together. Avenged Sevenfold's first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet is a metalcore album and songs like Streets for example have clean but hardcore punk vocals and no breakdowns. But it still contains youth crew and heavy metal combination elements. But you have to have a source for metalcore, or at least prove this song to have the sound. It doesn't have any youth crew in it. I couldn't hear breakdowns, but I also heard a lot of solos.
