Notability[edit]

I believe that as a well-known publishing company in the Jewish world, Targum Press is worthy of a page on Wikipedia, similar to other Jewish publishers that have pages, like Artscroll or Feldheim. Chumashteacher (talk) 10:13, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Targum Press is mentioned on other pages in Wikipedia, such as the page on Nasan Slifkin and the controversy about his books. --Chumashteacher (talk) 10:15, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I can vouch for them as well. Relatively of course, they are one of the major publishers. --Shuki (talk) 18:33, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Targum Press also publishes chapter books for children. This is particularly valuable today when so many secular children's books are full of coarse language and corrupt values. (Mrs. Cohen (talk) 08:36, 14 May 2008 (UTC))[reply]

The conventions of the Orthodox world would make it difficult to meet the usual notability guidelines for any Orthodox publisher. Orthodox publishers (generally) are written about in Orthodox periodicals. These are prevented from publishing critical comments by religious prohibitions on negative comments. and endless puff pieces make for boring reading, so they tend not to write much. However, with only a handful of publishers catering to the English language Orthodox market, it would be silly to leave out Targum and Feldheim, just because they have not generated the degree of comment that Artscroll has. Someone researching Orthodox publishing would need to be able to find information on Targum to understand the industry.--Olesker (talk) 20:40, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moving[edit]

Maybe this page's name should be changed to Menucha Publishers, the company's new name. See kosheronabudget.com. – Charlie Smith FDTB (talk) 20:08, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Factual Errors[edit]

Targum Press still exists -- Menucha Publishers is a separate company (see menuchapublishers.com vs targumpublishers.com and targum.press)

While Menucha reprints and distributes old Targum books, Ktav.com distributes Targum books published after 2011

@Akivaa:, the mistake was corrected. See separation between Menucha Publishers and Targum Press. Charlie Smith FDTB (talk) 17:36, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2022[edit]

An attempt to reach TargumPress.com in 2022 redirected to TargumPublishers.com, saying "35 years of the Finest Jewish Books." https://menuchapublishers.com/products/the-baker-s-dozen-vol-1-on-our-own reaches "Menucha Publishers Inc." that has a shopping cart app. Additional titles are offered.
