Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page The Three Weeks do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dekisugi (talk) 11:11, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue spamming Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. JFW | T@lk 07:56, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

External links[edit]

You have been adding external links almost exclusively to Targum Press website pages. This is inappropriate use of the external links facility as explained by our external links policy. If you think a particular book is useful for the general reader of this encyclopedia, you might consider using it as a reference instead, and then cite it as one would any other book: using {{cite journal}} and using the ISBN.

With regards to linking to excerpts: what is the point in that? Why would the general reader of a general encyclopedia be helped with a sampling of someone's writing? An excerpt would be useful if it contained a particularly important section, e.g. the Ramban's widely cited assertion that "maasei ovos siman le-bonim". JFW | T@lk 10:19, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that an excerpt can be very helpful. If someone is researching Nachmanides, for example, he or she can get a taste of and a feel for Nachmanides' writings and his outlook by reading a sample of his works. Not all people have the time or the need to read entire volumes on the subject; they might very well find a short excerpt useful in getting sense of who Nachmanides was and what his views were.

Is that something you would expect from an encyclopedia? A random sampling of someone's work? I am also concerned that the material in question just happens to be on the publisher's website. Again, this practice is discouraged and I'm sure you have more constructive contributions to make than adding external links - external links are probably the least important part of Wikipedia. Hi[edit]

It might help you to appear as more of a serious Wikipedia editor if you have at least something on your User page so that it doesn't show up in red everywhere you edit :) DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 06:13, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit counter[edit]

Hey. I added an edit counter to the top of both your user and talk pages -- hope you like it. Also, your talkpage appears a bit odd because of the first entry -- it relates to God somehow but isn't well introduced and doesn't have a heading and is not signed. did you place it here, or did someone else? Just trying to make it look nice and professional. DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 17:27, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
