Hotshot?[edit]

The hotshot DAB links to here, and the Trucking industry in the United States article's description of "HotShot" sounds like its related to this topic. If it is, ideally this article would either have hotshot as an alternate title (i.e. in bold) or would explain what a hotshot is (if it's not a simple synonym for LTL). -- Finlay McWalter··–·Talk 00:41, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Short description[edit]

@Voidxor regarding your revert see WP:SDESC which says "A short description is not a definition" but rather "a very brief indication of the field covered by the article". The problem with the current short description is that it grossly exceeds the recommended length of 40 characters meaning that it will be truncated to something like "Transportation of an amount of freight b...". rblv (talk) 18:10, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Rublov: Thank you for the explanation. I think it's best practice to state your reason for making a change in your edit summary. My main concern—as I stated in my edit summary—is that everything here is a "term", so that's a waste of 4 or 5 characters in my opinion. Even so, I think I can find a good middle ground between the 85 characters that were there, and the 22 characters that you had. Give me a minute. — voidxor 18:57, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about "An amount of freight in shipping"? — voidxor 19:00, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds good to me. rblv (talk) 23:25, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
 Done, thanks. — voidxor 13:13, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
