Notability

I am not sure why a notability tag has been placed on the article. It has sources and the intro to the article clearly states how the article is notable. I believe the tag should be removed. Thanks. Ism schism (talk) 21:10, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

I have removed the tag as the article clearly demonstrates notability. Notability is clearly demonstrated because, "the aarti sung in all Shri Swaminarayan Mandirs. The piece was composed by Muktanand Swami." Thanks. Ism schism (talk) 21:24, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

The lyrics

The lyrics are not the same for BAPS or singular throughout the other sects. They claim that they have updated versions. This need to be kept relevent and on this article because this song is important to the cult overall. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.217.173.194 (talk) 01:35, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

At the end of the article, it states that the aarti is different by two words. This is excess information that is not stated in any of the sourced. The fundamental issue here is that the aarti a doctrine of prayer has been changed for whatever reason by the offshoot sect and needs to be noted by stating that it is "claimed to be an original manuscript." This change is not what originally was sang by the Guru Pampara of BAPS and was only recently changed. Also the word managed takes away from the article and needs to be removed. The user that continuously reedits this is clearly a follower of this cult and has attachment. And finally the lyrics of the song refers to the Williams Brady but his version of the lyrics are based on the BAPS changed version. Since BAPS acknowledges the changes, we need to keep the lyrics from an original source. . End request --> Swamifraud (talk) 15:55, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

Swamifraud, 1. The "excess information" of the two words is from a direct comparison of the lyrics in the version presented on the website from the NarNarayan Dev Mandir, Bhuj and the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, London; this was inserted to just highlight the difference in the versions as the earlier vandalism attempts were so intent on including these changes in the article. 2. The citation to the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, London was provided by an anonymous user (likely yourself) as part of the disruptive edits, and the current version of the article veritably cites what is written on the source website regarding BAPS version being based on an original manuscript. 3. The word "managed" is not important here and can be changed to whatever is appropriate. 4. The English translation of the lyrics are exactly, word for word, the ones published by Professor Raymond Brady Williams in his authoritative book, An Introduction to Swaminarayan Hinduism, which is a neutral, academic source published in 2001 from the University of Cambridge Press. 5. The arti is an important prayer in Swaminarayan Hinduism and the article in its current state better recapitulates its history and essence than it did before, all while using unbiased sources. It appears that a user or users from the Detroit area are using the username Swamifraud (interesting choice) and a host of anonymous IP addressees from the Wayne State U campus to repeatedly sabotage this page and others to reflect their inherent biases. I again appeal for constructive dialogue and cooperation to present substantiated material in a neutral point of view. Anastomoses (talk) 16:17, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

Maybe we need the BAPS version to show the differences? Why did baps change it? 141.217.233.69 (talk) 02:54, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Deleting text (The arti sung in BAPS Swaminarayan mandirs is claimed to be an original manuscript of the composition by Muktanand Swami and is different from the aarti sung in mandirs of the Swaminarayan Sampraday.[1]) as it is synthesizing two sources. Thus, violates WP:No_original_research#Synthesis_of_published_material_that_advances_a_position. Kapil.xerox (talk) 03:16, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
