Do we really need a separate WP article for every song?[edit]

I'm mystified as to why there needs to be a separate WP article for every song on an album. It seems to me that, with an article as short as this, all of the songs on the album would be better collected on the article for that album, than split up like this. What are you talking about? There are only separate articles for the three singles, not every song on the album as you confusingly claim. See WP:NSONGS for what constitutes notability for separate song articles. STATic message me! 14:56, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
"Every song" was an exaggeration for effect, not a claim. And I'm well aware of WP:NSONGS, although you may not be. Here's what WP:NSONGS requires for a song to demonstrate WP:N: "...(it has) been the subject of multiple, non-trivial published works whose sources are independent of the artist and label..." Well, the 12 "published works" that are cited in the article consist of 3 different links to the song being listed in Billboard rankings, 2 links to the song being listed in RIAA rankings, a link to the YouTube video, a link to iTunes, a link to MTV, and 4 links to *very* trivial mentions of the song in short (as in 3 paragraphs or less) webzine articles. Furthermore, WP:NSONGS states "Notability aside, a standalone article is only appropriate when there is enough material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album." So the onus is on you (or whatever other editors are interested) to justify the existence of a separate article for a single (rather than just having, like most singles, a paragraph on the album's article), rather than on me to demonstrate that it shouldn't. You have a misconception on what constitutes trivial coverage, not to mention a simple google search turns up many more. If you see the top of this page it was nominated for AfD is December, before it became a top-40 hit, and was universally voted to be kept. The main notability points in WP:NSONGS is being covered by reliable sources, and charting on major country charts, which it clearly has. STATic message me! 15:13, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Background[edit]

I didn't understand anything. In the Background section it says that on the 8th of November 2012 he announced "I'm Different" as the 3rd single from his debut album, but article's MTV's source was publish on 1st of November. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.130.20.208 (talk) 13:52, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
