Understanding the Story[edit]

Please help me understand the story being told in this song. Who is “his baby”? Why did he shoot her? Does he feel any remorse? What happened next? Thanks! Lbeaumont (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:13, 9 June 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Time for a disambiguation![edit]

There's also a folksong with the same name by Albert Hammond from 1972 (which did make the Billboard 100), with the lyrics telling a story around environmental concerns, and which upon re-release in 1975 even made the top ten in Germany and Switzerland, and the top twenty in Austria. --79.193.54.208 (talk) 22:29, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
