I know this article is still under construction, so I'm sure you're aware of much of what I'm going to write. Generally I think you have a great outline. I saw a few other wikipedia sites about brownfields, I don't know how much of that you're planning to use.

The definition, and a summary of the problem, should be ahead of the table of contents. The language needs some editing. The list of federal acts impacting brownfields, and section on federal regulation should have more detail - what exactly did the act do to/with brownfields? With federal funding, how much funding, who can get it, where can they look? Can you provide an example of state brownfield regulation? I'd encourage you to rethink the article's structure, for example, is brownfield progress really part of "issues"?

I like how the progress on browfield restoration section is in bulleted list. It makes it easier to read. For the cost section, maybe you can be more specific or at least throw in some examples of what "other grants and programs" are and what "low interest loans and grants offered by states" are. I think a bit more detail for the liability bullet points is warranted. I really like the see also section. The outline looks great in general; however, be sure to include an introductory section and just a little more substance to each of your sections. Hi! Here is more feedback on your article from a fellow classmate:

I know we are to focus on US policy, but since Wikipedia is an international resource, reading the definition, I am curious if “brownfield” is a term that only occurs in the US, or if it’s used in other countries, of if other countries have similar concepts named differently. Perhaps you could include links to a few regulatory examples in other countries, to give an idea of how widely brownfield remediation/regulation occurs or, alternatively, that it’s a topic exclusive to the US.

Also, in the beginning, perhaps you can give a bullet point list of sites that can qualify as brownfields (residential, industrial, whatever else), to give an idea of the extent to which brownfields occur. I think the EPA site also has data on in what states or areas (rural vs. urban) brownfields are more numerous. As a reader who knows nothing about brownfields, I’m curious about those statistics.

Wherever you list pertinent acts or official partnerships, if you could include active links (either site within Wikipedia or external sites), I think that would be really good to help the reader easily and quickly get contextual info. So for example, all the acts listed under “Progress on brownfields restoration”. Perhaps you could also include an explanation on events or social/environmental movements that prompted those acts (especially the first few).

Examples: perhaps you could include two or three case studies to highlight significant brownfield redevelopment projects around the US.

Under “Cost”, last paragraph: what are some examples of “eligibility requirements”?

Under “Federal Regulation”, can you be more specific about how NEPA factors in brownfield redevelopment? How does its framework (which is what?) pertain to brownfield redevelopment? What particular “environmental concerns and values” (and as defined by whom?) are considered in/prompt brownfield restorations?

Perhaps since we’ve discussed policy instrument choice in the Q&A portion of class presentations, this article can also make clear what sorts of policy instruments are involved in brownfield restoration.
