Title

Should the title of this article be Bai Suzhen? or is the current one more appropriate? I'm not sure which is better because I'm not Chinese. So we need comment from experienced editors and Chinese editors. Thanks VocalIndia (talk) 12:35, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

  • (I am also non-Chinese, so bringing no real expertise, but was brought here by the RfC request to Talk pages.) There is some overlap between this article and Legend of the White Snake where the treatment of the White Lady is placed in more context, including indicating that Bai Suzhen was allocated as a name later (as does the zh wiki article). This present article is significantly different from the zh:白娘子 article to which it is inter-wiki-linked: this one has text and image content relating to the worship at the White Snake temple so Baishe Niangniang may be the better title as it refers to that particular usage. I wonder if the present article may be better re-oriented to link with zh:白蛇廟, leaving Legend of the White Snake to carry the main legendary use? AllyD (talk) 15:07, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
So should we expand under the name Bai Suzhen as the legend's major character? Legend of WS characters are not fictional characters of a novel. VocalIndia (talk) 16:20, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
