AC/DC Cover Band?

Saw them on TV for the first time today and heard a few of their songs - they are soo similar to AC/DC (in appearance and guitar style) its great Mabuska (talk) 23:07, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Naojust they sound like AC/DC but AC/DC sounds like Chuck berry but a little faster and more distortion. What? As far as I know, "airbourne" is not a valid spelling of "airborne" in any variety of English; the band's name, like that of the Eastbourne Air Show, is presumably intended as a pun of some sort.

I propose that we should put the article for either the band or the air show at Airbourne, with links both to the other, and to the airborne disambig page for those who mis-spelled. - IMSoP (talk) 21:49, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Hm, that's maybe not a bad idea; it would solve the clumsiness of my fix to the airborne dab, because you could simply say "See also: airbourne, airborn".

My only hesitation is that all the links that point to Airbourne (of which there aren't that many) are referencing the band, suggesting it has "primary meaning" status. The history section seems incredibly cluttered with no direction. It seems to just be a list of songs featured in other media. I agree with you there. Just got a few points to make. 1) I added the upcoming album into the history section as it seems a logical place to have it. Although we probably need a source for this to look a creditable claim. 2) The line about their equipment doesn't fit under that heading. Does it warrant its own heading? I'd say it needs ellaborating on before that, but otherwise I can't see a logical place to put it. 3) This section itself. I found the original source of the upcoming album, the source is from a MetalHammer interview with the band confirming that they are working on new material. Where you put the band's equpment seems to be the best place since there isn't enough info to merit it's own heading. On your third point I think you should do that if it seems to be for the better. Fanclub

I noticed this line in the article "Airbourne have an independent fan club on Myspace who support the band with advertising, friends, and publicity" followed by a link to the Airbourne Fan Club on Myspace. Heads Are Gonna Roll

In the video in which it is first confirmed Airbourne are working on a third Album, there is a mention of heads are gonna roll. The interviewer says something along the lines of "Can we mention Heads Are Gonna Roll?" Both the present members of the band are unsure and the interviewer doesn't persue it further. However, there is a youtube video of a song called Heads are gonna roll by airbourne. It's very clear that it is the band singing it. Can we make a mention of this. Further improvement ideas

I believe the article is now C-class. It's biggest problem in becoming B-class is the Songs featured in other media section which lacks reliable sources. Part of that section is list-like and part is prose. I've done my bit for the History and Discography sections and leave further work for other editors.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:54, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Just over 10 years later, I've had a go at this subSection, I've renamed it In popular culture, tabulated its content, referenced most of the items, deleted those I could not find sources for and moved the whole section down below discography. Post-2018 line-ups

Mathew Harrison was replaced on rhythm guitar and backing vocals by Jarrad Morrice in mid-2022 (see refs [57] and [58]). Since that time Brett Tyrrell has performed in Airbourne (perhaps as a fill-in or auxiliary touring member?) but there appear to be no independent reliable sources to verify that Tyrrell has joined as a permanent full-time member. Sources which cite Tyrrell's former bands (Thunderstruck and/or Black Aces) or Tyrrell's social media sites are not independent and cannot be used to verify this possible line-up change. Another source by Pete Finn of Metal Planet Music (July 2023) states "if my research is correct, the very recently recruited Brett Tyrrell (rhythm guitar, backing vocals) who was in Thunderstruck an AC/DC tribute act in Australia." The problem here is that it is conditional, the writer is not sure whether Tyrell is a member, hence Tyrrell's name should not be added to the line-up until better verification is available. The band's official website has not made any statement about the mid-2023 line-up nor the sixth studio album, which is due out this year (see ref [75]).shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 04:52, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
