June 2021[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Wonderlick Entertainment, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless used with permission. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is the teahouse, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page and someone will be along to answer it shortly. As you get started, you may find the pages below to be helpful.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! — Diannaa (talk) 20:36, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit reversion[edit]

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 12:54, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Scarf2048! Your additions to Wonderlick Entertainment have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. dudhhrContribs 06:22, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Scarf2048. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Wonderlick Entertainment, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Elizium23 (talk) 00:16, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't re-add text already published elsewhere online[edit]

Since the text you are repeatedly adding to Wonderlick Entertainment has previously been published elsewhere online, we need to have documentation that shows the copyright holders have given permission for the material to be copied to this website. Wikipedia has procedures in place for this purpose. Please see WP:Donating copyrighted materials for an explanation of how to do it. There's a sample permission email at WP:Consent. Please stop re-adding the text, or you risk being blocked from editing.— Diannaa (talk) 11:02, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have created a second account User:WonderlickEntertainmentGroup to continue to add copyright material to the article. Creating multiple accounts to attempt to avoid detection is called sockpuppetry, and it's a violation of Wilipedia policy to do so. And as you already know, adding copyright material without express written permission of the copyright holder is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. For these two reasons, I have blocked this account from editing.— Diannaa (talk) 13:38, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

June 2021[edit]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts in an effort to avoid detection while continuing to add copyright material to Wikipedia without written consent of the copyright holder. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  — Diannaa (talk) 13:40, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Diannaa, I have emailed as directed with the correct approval and seek this page to be unblocked so we can release information acording to the approval and guidelines stated.

You'll need to request unblock as instructed above. I will repeat my last post; Please understand that a Wikipedia article summarizes what independent reliable sources state about the subject, not what it wants to say about itself. Please review conflict of interest and paid editing. It's also unlikely that you will be unblocked to just edit about your employer; if you are interested in being a general contributor, please tell what other subjects you want to edit about. After your edit history shows a good understanding of Wikipedia policies, you may later be permitted to make edit requests regarding your company. 331dot (talk) 22:16, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I just want to let you know that everything done on Wikipedia, including this page is visible to the public. It seems like your goal here is to paint your company in the best possible light. Not only will we not let you do that as it violates our neutrality policy, but this is all visible to the public. I really suggest that you stop trying to get your version of the article. It just won't work. HighInBC Need help? Just ask. 23:00, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The Wonderlick page is managed directly by Wonderlick representatives, we have provided approval for use of information on the page, will compy with the guidelines and are seeking urgent unblocking of users to restore page.

Decline reason:

No. The block is correct. You cannot control the article about you. You cannot promote your company here. You will not be unblocked. Please stop asking. HighInBC Need help? Just ask. 00:03, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Any article about Wonderlick is not Wonderlick's to control. It is an article about the company, not for the company. Your company is free to speak about itself on its own website or social media accounts. Please read WP:OWN as you misunderstand many things about this. 331dot (talk) 00:09, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

We wish to update the Wonderlick wiki page with information regarding the company according to the Wiki guidelines provided. Thought we have submitted our Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported and GNU Free Documentation License - we will use language different to those sites.

Decline reason:

You need to read through a wide variety of guidelines before we're willing to unblock you. You have so many misconceptions about Wikipedia that I don't even really know where to start. Let's try this:

You should also read Wikipedia, though this is just an encyclopedia article, not rules for editing Wikipedia. However, this will give you an idea of what website you're using because you seem to be totally clueless about what Wikipedia is. Once you've read all those pages (yes, it will take a while), you can request an unblock via the Unblock Ticket Request System. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 09:33, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm removing talk page access because you either are not getting this or just ignoring us. When your appeal is declined by someone else, that will leave you with WP:UTRS to make further appeals. 331dot (talk) 00:23, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will restore your access to this page to give you one more chance to follow the instructions you've been given. Make it count. 331dot (talk) 22:34, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User talk:331dot - just wanted to see if this was done as well as access to be a general contributor to Wikipedia? Appriciate your help here and for providing the prior information.

Wonderlick Entertainment ‎[edit]

Just a reminder. You must read and heed WP:COI and WP:PAID. You will not add content directly. Wikipedia is not a venue for you to promote your apparent employer. There is never an urgent need to edit Wikipedia, especially by adding promotional content or content copyrighted elsewhere. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 14:37, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

rHi there, it was with my own fault I did not understand the full information around the sock account and information added to the Wiki page for Wonderlick Entertainment. With the further information provided from Wiki users and upon reviewing this information/rules, I now fully understand the guidelines and am seeking this block to be removed for the User: Scarf2048 and the associated IP address: 192.168.1.106 as well as an block that may be placed on the wiki page 'Wonderlick Entertainment'. I am happy for the WonderlickEntertainmentGroup user to be deleted (or shown how for this to be deleted) and to review the appeal for Scarf2048, the IP address associated (192.168.1.106) and unblock access to Wonderlick Entertainment Wiki page.

Decline reason:

No, for reasons explained above and below. Yamla (talk) 09:55, 25 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to understand about sockpuppetry(accounts cannot be deleted, just never use the other account again) but you haven't yet really demonstrated an understanding of the other policies described to you. Do you understand that

  1. The article about your company does not belong to your company and the company has no special rights to it. It actually has less, as company representatives should not directly edit the article, but instead make edit requests
  2. that Wikipedia is primarily interested in what independent reliable sources say about the company, not what it wants to say about itself
  3. that even if copyright is granted, anything your company says about itself does not establish that it meets our special definition of a notable company
  4. that you must make a formal paid editing declaration
  5. lastly, that we aren't going to unblock you to just represent your company here. In order to demonstrate a good understanding of these and other policies, you will first need to spend time acting as a general Wikipedia contributor and edit in areas unrelated to your conflict of interest before being permitted to make edit requests related to your company. If you are interested in being a general contributor, please tell what other areas you wish to edit in and agree to not edit about your company for at least the short term.

If your only interest here is in representing your company, you won't be unblocked and you should withdraw this request. Feel free to show your superiors this message, as well as anything else others have told you. 331dot (talk) 09:47, 25 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If the next unblock request does not have something compelling in it I am going to remove talk page access. You are consuming far too much of our time. HighInBC Need help? Just ask. 09:50, 25 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User: 331dot - you restored my talk page access so I may appeal. This restore of access will also involve active contribution to Wiki within compliance of rules.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Scarf2048 (talkcontribs)

You won't be unblocked unless you do as requested above. 331dot (talk) 11:27, 25 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:331dot - I am trying to follow your previous comments about being a general contributor to Wikipedia, however it appears I don't have permission for this. Is this something you are able to resolve on your end so I can follow those steps?

I am seeking this access to be unblocked for the following reasons. I am not using the sock account created, this IP is blocked, I am ubable to use Wiki as a general contributor, the pages I wish to access as a general contributor show incorrect info.
