Category:CS1 errors: extra text: issue
This is a tracking category. It is used to build and maintain lists of pages—primarily for the sake of the lists themselves and their use in article and category maintenance. It is not part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme.

Administrators: Please do not delete this category as empty! This category may be empty occasionally or even most of the time. |
This is a tracking category for CS1 citations that have |issue=
and |number=
errors.
Many (although not all) cases in the category can automatically be fixed by clicking here to activate User:Citation bot.
|issue=
has extra text
|number=
has extra text
The templates are responsible for static text rendered in the citation. When |issue=
or |number=
is used in a template, cs1|2 formats the issue number according to the style corresponding with the publication type associated with the used citation template.
The templates emit this error message when various forms of issue or number prefixes (like Iss.
or No.
) are found in the value assigned to |issue=
or |number=
.
To resolve this error, remove the extraneous text from the parameter value. If the extraneous text removed is related to issues, please use the |issue=
parameter rather than |number=
for this, and vice versa. At present, the output is the same for both parameters, but this may not hold true in future versions, therefore it is important that issues and number values are used with the proper parameter as per what nomenclature is used in the actual publication.
Pages with this error are automatically placed in Category:CS1 errors: extra text: issue.[a]
