The Wuppertal stabbing was a stabbing attack that occurred on 22 February 2024 in a school in Wuppertal, a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, carried out by a 17-year old student at the school.[1]

Attack[edit]

The attack happened with the 17-year old going into Wilhelm-Dörpfeld secondary school armed with a knife and a pair of scissors, they attacked multiple students and a female teacher, 5 were injured including the perpetrator themselves.[2][3] The school stated the suspect was having a manic depressive episode.[4]

During the attack, students barricaded themselves in classrooms.[5]
