ibid[edit]

Hi, wanted to say that I'm actively removing/fixing ibid tags if I'm able to. (Sometimes I try to contact the author if I can't fix it myself). I hope that I am able to fix ALL articles within a year o.O mabdul 13:37, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New target[edit]

With the drive rapidly approaching (70% at the moment, on 7 June), might it be best to get a new target in place? The old one didn't look to be particularly ambitious. (Sorry I can't be involved personally.) Grandiose (me, talk, contribs) 09:02, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what kind of effect such a move would have. You see, the reason the current goal doesn't "look to be particularly ambitious" (~1000 articles) is that the last drive (April) had a goal which was too ambitious (~3500 articles). One participant commented that "a 'goal' is a nice idea, but setting it too high can be a bit demoralizing (when, eg, after 20-odd days we'd only achieved 30% of the target)." We (the coordinators) have discussed "'challenging' (rather then just moving the goal up) our participants to get another 500 off the books." Moving the goal up could be just as "demoralizing" as having an out-of-reach goal. But yes, I agree, the current goal is too low. Clearly. Guoguo12 (Talk)  18:50, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps have a multi-tiered goal, say Goal #1 is 1000 articles, Goal #2 is 1500, Goal #3 is 2000, etc. etc. etc. to 5000. The more goals we pass the more moralized the participators become, but if they do not pass all of the goals they at least passed some of them. I know this is very rough, provide input please. That's actually a very interesting idea. It's a bit too late to implement this drive, and it does need a little work, but I will definitely remember and bring it up that for the next drive. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 13:26, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is actually a good idea, and it wouldn't be hard to setup either. Sumsum2010·T·C 23:21, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
