Table layout[edit]

Personally I am not keen on this format of the table, it is just confusing to look at the table and see the points column at the start of the table than in there more traditional place towards the end of the table after the goal difference column, also the labelling of the columns is confusing to me too as when i look at the table I look for what I term a traditional layout with GD meaning Goal Difference and P meaning Games played, anyone else think the same? --shanda 22:05, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Precisely. The % column is so American.  Slumgum T. C.   00:19, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm actually in favour of the % column, I find it an interesting statistic meaning that if a few games have been missed for whatever reason you can look at the percentage column and compare to see where a team might be in the table on the current form. I do realize it doesn't fit in with a traditional table for English leagues but I find it a welcome addition personally. --shanda 00:38, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. The headings can change but I think the points column first shows the importants of the points. Kingjeff 00:45, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the points column is important hence why you've bolded them, but looking at the table just at a glance I associate the first column with games played instantly. --shanda 10:12, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The only difference is where the points column is. I figure that most people would want ranking and points to be the most noticable. Kingjeff 12:03, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I like the percentage column as it shows team form. The points column belongs on the right in line with standard convention and traditional practice so it should be moved. It's simply not normal. It's confusing in its present position at left. 66.162.99.17 22:53, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The points really should be at the right hand side.

I just used the tables that are used it the overal season articles, the look pretty good, and it meant I didn't have to type out all of the states again. Gran2 20:18, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The points have to be on the right. This is the format used by every football confederation and major league in the world. As for the colour scheme... horrible. Just ick. Far too stark. Kinitawowi 18:41, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other stuff relating to a uniform article[edit]

There are more issues then just the tables. What else can be included to the article format? Kingjeff 22:53, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal[edit]

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:48, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject X is live![edit]

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.
