Is this page still necessary?[edit]

Looking at {{Marvel Cinematic Universe drafts}}, it's clear that this page is significantly out of date. Additionally, information regarding when a draft article should be moved to mainspace can already be found on the individual draft articles. Considering this, I don't think this page serves any purpose, and should probably be deleted or redirected. Thoughts? InfiniteNexus (talk) 02:43, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I've thought about this of late, and given the better upkeep the template has, perhaps we should remove this, or simply change it so it shows the navbox and maybe some other useful info that pertains to drafts? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:26, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think we could simply redirect this to Template:Marvel Cinematic Universe drafts? — ChannelSpider (talk) 19:02, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I would support only having to update one place, Favre's suggestion of showing the template here seems like a good idea to me. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:35, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I also support showing the template here, and maybe we can shift some stuff from the main task force page such as WP:MCUCHARACTERS here too. IronManCap (talk) 19:41, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree and support showing the navbox template here would be ideal. Not sure on what else could be here. Trailblazer101 (talk) 19:55, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe this can become a repository for info specifically for drafts that us MCU task force editors regularly do? At the very least, I'd love if we make it an additional WP:SUPPLEMENTAL page, to set up some rules of thumb for what should be made drafts, and when. I'm just thinking of something like Draft:Untitled Black Widow sequel that was made when we had one piece of info regarding a potential future film, yet this info until any more comes out is fine at Black Widow (2021 film)#Future. To me, that doesn't warrant a draft article, because as far as we know there is not active plans for such a project that warrants the attention we put to drafts. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:50, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good idea. There are also a lot of character drafts that were made way prematurely, in my opinion. We definitely need some guidelines regarding when a draft should be created. InfiniteNexus (talk) 01:55, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A main concern, as noted at WP:DRAFTS and a bit at the essay WP:DUD, is drafts aren't meant to be for "indefinite/free" drafting space, and have a "stale" limit of six months, of which I'm sure many "untitled" projects that we know have no traction (ie untitled BW sequel) aren't really merited and probably the same for some character drafts. At least for the characters, if a user is passionate one, they're welcome to use their own userspace to start a draft, and then can move that to the draft space once its closer to thinking it can meet rules of thumb for an article. And then for projects, if a trade hasn't mentioned it being in some sort of development, the info can probably be at a "Future/sequel" section, or a relevant character's "in other media" section/page. Those are just some of my early thoughts on what we can try and mock up. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:22, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We definitely need some additional guidance on drafting, and I totally support Favre's framework on that. Many character drafts are for characters who haven't even appeared yet, whilst more worthwhile drafts like the Pepper Potts one are being left in the dust. Whilst Features of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has previously been criticized as WP:FANCRUFTy (a problem well addressed by InfiniteNexus) we now have drafts for fictional elements like Draft:Stark towers (Marvel Cinematic Universe)! We also had Draft:Untitled Miss Minutes film recently based on an editor's interpretation of a joke by Kate Herron. This page can certainly be used as a guidance page for how to use draftspace for MCU topics, and how it should be more refined than a user's personal sandbox. IronManCap (talk) 16:43, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We should mock up some text before we adjust this. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:57, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Talos[edit]

Does he qualify for mainspace now that he was one of the series leads in Secret Invasion? -- ZooBlazertalk 19:00, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
