Erik Zachtes statistics now includes en.wikipedia[edit]

For the first time since October 2006 there are new wikistats data for the English Wikipedia. This also allows publication of much wanted totals for all wikipedias combined, and trend forecasts. See also Eriks weblog. HenkvD (talk) 17:55, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flagged protection and patrolled revisions[edit]

As students of changes in editing, I hope you have some opinions to offer at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)/Archive 55#Hypothesis testing for Flagged protection and patrolled revisions Josh Parris 05:15, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stats needed[edit]

A consensus was reached on 27 May 2011 to restrict the creation of new mainspace articles to contributors whose accounts have reached autoconfirmed status. This is a major policy change and the permanent implementation of this new rule will depend on the results of a trial. Would it be possible for members or a member of the WikiProject Editing trends to provide the following data sets for the pre-trial period drawn from across the six months Jan - June 2011?

  1. The number of new articles created by non autoconfirmed editors registered since 1 January 2011.
  2. The number of new articles created by non autoconfirmed editors registered since 1 January 2011 that were kept.
  3. The total number of new articles created by non autoconfirmed editors registered since 1 January 2011 that were subsequently deleted.
  4. The number of non autoconfirmed editors registered since 1 January 2011, who have not edited since their article was deleted.
  5. The number of non autoconfirmed registered editors since 1 January 2011, of deleted articles who are still making constructive edits.
  6. The number of non autoconfirmed registered editors since 1 January 2011, who have been blocked for disruptive editing/recreation of deleted articles, COI, COPYVIO, trolling, and vandalism (not for civility, sockpuppetry , or any other issues)
  7. The number of articles created by the Article Wizard.
  8. The number of articles created through Articles for Creation

For all of these things it sounds like you'll need someone with Toolserver access. MZMcBride (talk · contribs) regularly gets asked for reports of these types on his talk page. You might poke him or any other active enwp Toolserver user. Killiondude (talk) 05:49, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal[edit]

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject X is live![edit]

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

A new newsletter directory is out![edit]

A new Newsletter directory has been created to replace the old, out-of-date one. If your WikiProject and its taskforces have newsletters (even inactive ones), or if you know of a missing newsletter (including from sister projects like WikiSpecies), please include it in the directory! The template can be a bit tricky, so if you need help, just post the newsletter on the template's talk page and someone will add it for you.
