Resident check-in[edit]

I used to live in the extreme southeast corner of Hell's Kitchen. Then I moved to the Upper West Side. Now I live in Harlem. --Uncle Ed (talk) 17:46, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I really wanted to go but then I found out I have to work this Saturday. But please keep me on the notification list. I'll try to arrange my schedule better next time. --Uncle Ed (talk) 11:30, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Saturday at the Library with the Lions[edit]

See you tomorrow, folks!--Pharos (talk) 20:51, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Booh Yahs and After-Event Notes[edit]

Woo hoo! Broke out of my wikipedia shell by making edits to Elephantine Colossus, Christopher Street, and Utopia, Queens. Pharos, I did want to remind you to please fix our precious Elephantine Colossus... I think I made some bots a bit angry... Schnevets (talk) 21:01, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The appropriate bots have been neutralized! Motor oil was spilt.--Pharos (talk) 14:23, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Recommendation[edit]

I recommend that we eliminate the "Regrets" section in future notices. It seems to me to merely clutter up these things, and make them less useful as a historical record, to have a list of people explaining why they couldn't come and what other events required their attendance instead. Does anyone agree? -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:41, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the "Regrets" section does have a couple of non-obvious uses, (1) it alerts us to newbies who saw the geonotice and can't make it this time, but should be invited for future events, and (2) it lets us know whether regulars have seen seen the notice and can't come, or whether for some reason they may have missed the message.--Pharos (talk) 14:21, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And for those who have been reluctant to attend anything, it shows that it is (to an extent) a social group and carries at least a minimal level of responsibility toward each other. -- kosboot (talk) 14:29, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I withdraw the suggestion. -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:00, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

May Meetup Date[edit]

I was thinking the third Saturday, May 19, if that works for people.--Pharos (talk) 18:45, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We could also then put in in the listings as an "official" Internet Week New York event.--Pharos (talk) 19:04, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, Wikipedia:Meetup/Women at Princeton Edit-a-thon is on May 19, so maybe we should merge the meetup with that (and go to a meetup dinner in the town of Princeton post-editathon), or move it to another date entirely.--Pharos (talk) 16:41, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
