Acknowledgment[edit]

There seems to be no mention here of acknowleding in the resulting article that it is a translation or where it was translated from. - Jmabel | Talk 20:53, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is needed. I am translating German town articles into English. They then get categorized as unreferenced. So I am starting to add a heading Sources with text like this:
Translated and edited from de:Dielheim 9 Jan 2007
A reader can then view the history of either article and evalute form him or herself the validity. Whether the original article is unreferenced or not is an independent issue.imars 11:19, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There exists as well a tag, which should be added to the bottom of the finished translation. It looks like: {{Translation/Ref|Language|Source|oldid=parameter of the permanent link}} Tirkfl 09:12, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Transclude the request to where?[edit]

These directions state that The person requesting the translation should then add the Wikipedia:Translation/(Name of article here) banner to the Translation Requests of this month and to the talk page. (My emphais). Which talk page? Hiding Talk 10:52, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Subpage definition[edit]

Could someone please define the term subpage as it appears in the example(?) under Translation Request? Thanks. -Eric talk 22:43, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
