note re items[edit]

opening section[edit]

(made sub-section, to avoid creating repeatedl notifs, to those tagged below)

section to discuss some items for this meeting Sm8900 (talk) 13:51, 22 June 2022 (UTC) here is a rough idea of some of the topics which I have been considering discussing,[reply]

  • Wikimedia governance processes:
    • forum for "Movement Strategy" discussions.
    • created New nav box for Meta site, for "basic information."
    • as part of the new movement strategy processes, maybe create a new thematic hub for topics in history-related areas.
  • History-related WikiProjects; ideas for efforts/resources for editing community at Wikipedia:
    • creating new community effort for community calls, maybe via zoom, to discuss history-related projects.
    • maybe create new inter-wikiproject task for for history-related wikiprojects
      • History is such a broad topic, it basically includes all wikipedia subjects, that it makes it hard to focus on as a group. Have you considered a specific part of history to focus on? Have you considered collaborating with any Wikimedia user groups? --Wil540 art (talk) 22:04, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • ideas for chapter meetups
    • how zoom calls can lead to new style of community cooperation and planning.
  • general communication resources:
    • please join forum for movement strategies
    • possibility for thread on a messaging app?
  • need fo greater community communication
    • would like editors to join wikiproject history, and to join resources or platforms set up for that wikiproject for communication.
      • What is the best way to grow a wikiProject? What is a strategy for building community on wikipedia? Both interesting questions and easier said then done. --Wil540 art (talk) 22:04, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • would like to be able to hold further zoom calls to address these topics, or perhaps arrange for a periodic separate zoom call. what might be a good way to invite other editors
    • would like to have threaded messaging; Forum Movement Strategy capability; Forum movement Strategy is one good place that is conducive to that.
@Wil540 art, well, no it is not, because that forum, does not reach a wide enough audience; also the actual method of communication is not what is needed for these ideas, in general. Sm8900 (talk) 22:10, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

these are just some ideas; not sure whether we necessarily would cover all of these. thanks. --Sm8900 (talk) 14:14, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

(anyone can comment here if they wish, of course; just I wasn't sure if those two editors would necessarily see this topic posted here.) Sm8900 (talk) 14:17, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Sm8900 Thanks for pinging me; I wish I could join as these are great topics, though I am in the wrong timezone to join today so will have to catch up afterward. Thank you. FULBERT (talk) 14:32, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Links to "Movement Strategy" project, and NEW threaded forums website[edit]

here is the link to the active project "Movement Strategy", that I mentioned, which is fully active at the META website.

ALL of you should feel welcome there. no editor should feel unwelcome; and especially not fully-involved editors like this group!!!

hope to see your input there! Sm8900 (talk) 00:00, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ok, and here is the link to the threaded forums that I shared on my screen just now. I hope most of you will visit the site, log in and share your thoughts! we need your input, and we need you to take a seat at the table!!
