TFA blurb review[edit]

Pharrell Williams

"Shine" is a song recorded by American singer Gwen Stefani, with collaborative vocals by Pharrell Williams (pictured). Originally intended for Stefani's band No Doubt, the reggae pop and ska song was written by Stefani and Williams, and produced by Williams. It is featured in the 2014 animated film Paddington; the lyrics follow Paddington Bear's journey to London and his identity crisis. A lyric video for the track was released on January 31, 2015, and included on the DVD and Blu-ray releases of the film. The song is heard in the American trailer, but was omitted from the film's soundtrack album and from Stefani's third studio album This Is What the Truth Feels Like (2016). Critical response to "Shine" was mixed; some praised Stefani and Williams' chemistry, while others compared the song negatively to their previous collaborations. Commentators frequently likened it to Williams' 2013 single "Happy" and Stefani's 2014 song "Spark the Fire". (Full article...)

Aoba47 (and anyone else interested): thoughts and edits are welcome. There's no rush; this hasn't been scheduled at TFA yet. This batch finishes up blurbs for FACs promoted in 2017. - Dank (push to talk) 00:47, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
