A Kwanzaa kinara

"A Rugrats Kwanzaa" is a television special from the American animated series Rugrats, first broadcast on December 11, 2001. It was one of the first mainstream television shows to feature the holiday Kwanzaa (kinara and candles depicted). In the episode, the toddler Susie Carmichael and her friends  – Tommy Pickles, Chuckie and Kimi Finster, and Phil and Lil DeVille – learn about the holiday during a visit from her great-aunt. Anthony Bell directed the episode from a script by Lisa D. Hall, Jill Gorey, and Barbara Herndon. "A Rugrats Kwanzaa" was praised by critics for its representation of the holiday and the voice acting; there was a mixed response to its commercialism. Cree Summer, who voices Susie, earned a nomination for a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Performance by a Youth at the 34th NAACP Image Awards for her role in the episode.   • Unfortunately, there is not a free alternative for anything already mentioned in the lead. I'm a little surprised that Cree Sumer does not have a free image given her popularity and career as a voice actor (and an actress). I do not have a problem with the image being used in the blurb, but I was just curious about it. The article currently uses a free image of one of the guest voice actors (Kevin Michael Richardson), but I cannot see how he could be worked into the blurb without it being slightly awkward. The episode does include a fictional representation of Martin Luther King Jr. so I could swap out the current image for one of King, but I am also uncertain of how it could be incorporated into the lead. Dan and Aoba47: I suggest using File:Kwanzaa Candles-Kinara.svg, which evokes the concept of 2D drawings and displays well as a small thumbnail. —David Levy 12:41, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
