Fingal image comparison[edit]

The top image is the SVG version at 800x800. The bottom is the JPEG. Wronkiew (talk) 15:55, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Both images have their strengths. The SVG's full-body image looks sharper than the JPEG, but the JPEG's zoomed-in view (the part that most people will be looking at) is definitely sharper. --Cryptic C62 · Talk 16:23, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The JPEG does seem to have a sharper zoomed-in view. Jappalang, did you sharpen it, or just increase the contrast? Wronkiew (talk) 00:31, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No sharpening done. If memory serves me, I used Photoshop's Auto-level function on it. I should point out that the levels of the zoomed-in view in the SVG does not match a simple crop from the original file (I was not able to adjust curves, levels, or brightness/contrast to achieve a match, but that could be my failure to replicate the settings).
