Star Control 3 is an action-adventure game developed by Legend Entertainment and published by Accolade. The third and final instalment in the Star Control trilogy, the game was released for MS-DOS in 1996 and Mac OS in 1998. It features a single-player campaign combining space exploration, alien dialogue, and ship-to-ship combat; the player engages in top-down battles between starships with unique abilities. Accolade hired Legend to create this sequel, after series creators Paul Reiche III and Fred Ford decided to pursue other projects. Legend was selected after its president, Bob Bates (pictured), established his team's passion for Star Control, as well as their experience as game writers. They designed the game in consultation with fans, replacing features from Star Control II that had received negative feedback. - Reasons for nomination: Hoping to have this up for September 24, 2021, which would be the 25th anniversary of this release (from back in 1996). This would be my first TFA (though not my first FA), and leapt at this for the sake of the big anniversary. @Gog the Mild: has been helping me through this last part of the process. - Support for a speedy promotion. I would still request that, for accuracy, "DOS" be changed to "MS-DOS" and the link under "Mac OS" point to Classic Mac OS. Comparing with other TFAs, the image caption appears rather long and should probably be reduced to "Bob Bates" or "Legend Entertainment president Bob Bates". - In my haste, I actually created more work for myself, instead of copying and pasting. I prefer the shorter caption too, and I fixed the Wikilinks as suggested by IceWelder. Shooterwalker (talk) 13:20, 31 August 2021 (UTC)
