The current Singapore Collaboration of the Fortnight is Co-curricular activity.
Every fortnight a different Singapore-related topic, stub or non-existent article is picked.
Please read the nomination text and improve the article any way you can.

Collaboration in Wikipedia is fun! Every two weeks, an article will be selected for the Singapore Collaboration of the Fortnight through votes in this page. The Singapore COTF aims to bring articles of low quality (stub), needing rewrite or cleanup, FAC worthy articles to FA standards, through cooperative editing. It will include articles for nomination on the SGpedians' notice board to do list. All are welcome to nominate an article. Only registered users may vote.

The next collaboration will be selected on 14 June 2006.

Nominations[edit]

Any Singapore related articles can be nominated. Only registered Wikipedians can do the nomination

To nominate an article:

  • At the top of the list of candidates on this page, or click on this edit link, enter the text {{Wikipedia:SGpedians' notice board/SGCOTF/article name}}, replacing the text "article name" appropriately.
  • Follow the new red link, and enter the text {{subst:newsgcotf|article name|~~~~~|your reason for nominating|~~~~}}. changing the text accordingly. For example, add: {{subst:newsgcotf|Phua Chu Kang|~~~~~|The number one contractor in Singapore.|~~~~}}.

Voting[edit]

As mentioned earlier, only Wikipedians can vote. It needs at least 5 votes to be accepted. The candidate which has the most number of votes will be the Collaboration of the Fortnight. Please take note that you can be from anywhere in the world to vote.

Archiving[edit]

There is no specific time limit for an article to receive sufficient votes, but if an article has no chance of being accepted in the future, it would be archived. Articles which were nominated to COTF are viewable at /past collaborations.

Please add the template {{past sgcotw|date|year}} to the talk pages of past collaborations.

Singapore[edit]

Nominated on 08:17, 25 May 2006 (UTC); needs at least 5 votes for acceptance.

Our most important article went through FAC five times, but all the attempts failed. Definitely needs a rewrite and something is wrong with it. Article can be improved after all, and we can try for FAC again once rewritten.

Comments:

  • Seems to me that we ought to figure out a way to make this article suitable to be an FAC, as it has come close so many times, and yet not quite reached that standard. Furthermore, there have been a lot of conflicting opinions on what should or should not be in this article. Person A says this, and Person B negates that and sometimes, it's simply impossible to please everybody. --yueni 15:46, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yong Pung How[edit]

Singapore's former Chief Justice for sixteen years article is in a need of expansion. He has done a lot for Singapore in the legal sector and this needs expansion.

Languages in Singapore[edit]

Nominated on 18:31, 17 May 2006 (UTC); needs at least 5 votes for acceptance.

Basic topic about languages in Singapore that is linked on the Singapore sidebar. The article is just recently created and needs a better organisation and input than what it currently is.

DBS Bank[edit]

Nominated on 15:07, 9 May 2006 (UTC); needs at least 5 votes for acceptance.

Singapore's largest bank's artical is in bad shape. It can be improved with news section. Definitely can be better than what it is.

Chiam See Tong[edit]

Nominated on 19:21, 9 March 2006 (UTC); needs at least 5 votes for acceptance.

Chiam has been MP for more than 20 years and is the longest serving opposition MP in history. Toughest job in Singapore? There should be plenty to write about.
