Amsterdam Population[edit]

I'm looking for recent statistics on the population of Amsterdam. Anybody who can speak or read dutch may be of help. Looking for updated statistics on the Municipality of Amsterdam, the Urban area, the Metro area and the Randstad. Thanks! Eddie891 Talk Work 13:54, 24 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

According to nl:Volkstelling, the Netherlands national census (volkstelling) is held decennially, the last was in 2011.
Have you seen Cities in the Netherlands: Facts and figures on cities and urban areas (2016) from Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency at The Hague? Fortunately, it's in English.

The municipality of Amsterdam is well-defined, the urban area, metro area and Randstad are not so well defined. Let's say that the urban area consists of the municipalities Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Ouder-Amstel, Diemen, Landsmeer, Oostzaan and Zaanstad. The metro area would be the COROP-areas Amsterdam, Zaanstreek, Het Gooi en Vechtstreek, IJmond and Haarlem plus the municipalities De Ronde Venen and Almere. For the Randstad I'll take that area plus the COROP-area Alkmaar and the provinces of Utrecht and Zuid-Holland, minus the municipality Goeree-Overflakkee and 11 municipalities around Amersfoort and Veenendaal (including Woudenberg and Eemnes, but not Zeist). Official data from 1 January 2018 can be found at cbs, the official bureau for statistics in the Netherlands.
Population of the municipality was 854,047, of the urban area 1,161,569, of the metro area 2,459,135 and of the Randstad 7,086,788. Total population of the Netherlands was 17,181,084.
I think those numbers include the people who were born on or died on that day, but not the people illegally living in the Netherlands or foreign NATO-personnel. People legally living in the Netherlands without a fixed address are counted in the municipality of The Hague, which puts them in the Randstad, but not in Amsterdam. PiusImpavidus, could you provide a specific link to those statistics you mention in CBS? Eddie891 Talk Work 23:29, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Here: [1]. You can deselect the years you don't want (click "perioden") and select the areas you want (click "regio's", gemeente means municipality). You can't select all at the same time; there's a limit on the number of rows it can return. The first column after the year gives the total population. looking for an arabic word[edit]

i am looking for the arabic word for a reluctant convert to Islam; the word I am thinking of is 5-7 letters and think it begins with a T, but I will accept anything — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.158.142.231 (talk) 22:50, 24 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I would guess you're looking for تحويل (tahweel), but that doesn't imply reluctance. HenryFlower 11:37, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
