The WiknicSTL Picnic, the "picnic anyone can edit", was held Sunday, September 15, 1-4pm, at the Brightside St. Louis Demonstration Garden as part of the Great American Wiknic celebrations being held across the USA. This was a gathering for anyone, from seasoned contributors to people who are wanting to know more. Anyone could contribute and no contribution is too small.

The picnic was held in the afternoon. While we anticipated more participants, we were a small and mighty group of active contributors and coordinators. We discussed how to get more participants and influence in the area. We made a list of organizations to contact as well as a method for how to contact them. We also discussed ways in which to be inclusive and intentional in our outreach to the local community. We identified several organizations with which to co-host or partner with for events.

There is street parking near the garden and a parking lot across the street at the Kingshighway Public Library. There are two areas for parking onsite, including a small lot off Shenandoah and from the alley on the southern side, which may be more convenient for participants using mobility aids.

Neither the Brightside or Library facilities will be open for use. We may be able to access public use bathrooms at nearby businesses.

The Conservation Corner area of the garden offers some shade and/or shelter under the solar panels, as well as an electrical outlet.
