Art+Feminism is a one-day event to fight the information gender gap. Join us to create and improve Wikipedia articles related to women, gender, feminism, and the arts. Food, caffeine, and moral support are provided.

All are welcome! No prior Wikipedia experience is necessary. Facilitators will be present to guide editors through tutorials and answer questions. Please bring a laptop and power cord if possible.

If possible, please create a Wikipedia account before the event. You can learn how to do that here.


Event information[edit]

The library is located on the ground floor of the Kemper Art Museum. See Directions and Parking and Accessibility on the website. Public access to the building ends at 6pm, if access is needed after 6pm, call the library front desk at 314-935-5268.

What to expect[edit]

No Wikipedia editing experience necessary! Materials and recommended tasks will be provided for Wikipedia newcomers. The event is drop in, however we encourage participants to stay for at least an hour.

Suggested tasks[edit]

Work on improving existing articles before starting a new page.

  • add wikilinks to orphaned articles to build stronger connections between articles
  • clarify language and remove sexist phrasings
  • add sources! If you find a good source but aren't sure how to add it into the text, include it in external resources or on the talk page for other editors to use
