American Life is the ninth studio album by American singer-songwriter Madonna, released on April 21, 2003. Produced in its entirety by Madonna and Mirwais Ahmadzaï, it is considered a concept album, with recurring themes of the American Dream and materialism. Its title track, "American Life", and following singles "Hollywood", "Nothing Fails" and "Love Profusion" all speak about the concept. Although a moderate success critically and commercially for Madonna, the album also included the 20th James Bond film hit soundtrack song, "Die Another Day". Following the album's release, Madonna released a remix EP titled Remixed & Revisited and embarked on the 2004 Re-Invention World Tour. In 2006, a documentary chronicling the tour came out, titled I'm Going to Tell You a Secret, along with a live album of same name.
