Original – An EPROM integrated circuit. Fine silver wires radiate from the integrated circuit to connect the die to legs of the microchip. The large grey regions of the integrated circuit are two arrays of floating-gate transistors which act as electronic memory which can be erased by intense UV light. The remainder of the integrated circuit consists of control circuitry. This integrated circuit is approximately 2 by 3 mm in size.
