Original - Bank Hall, Bretherton in Lancashire, a derelict jacobean mansion house built in 1608.
Reason
A view of old (Bank Hall) and new (Daffodils), the dead and derelict with a new lease of life from the flowers that still grow there. A good contrast of life after death in the season of spring. A fine example of jacobean architecture and also of derelict buildings.

  • Oppose Quality is decent, but not great in my opinion. Given the relatively small resolution, the picture is not very sharp. The composition could also be better; I don't really think the daffodils need to take up a third of the image. Jujutacular talk 17:30, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Much as it's great to see a local picture, there is just too much daffodil. J Milburn (talk) 17:35, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry another oppose. I don't like the composition, sharpness, colours and EV. Aaadddaaammm (talk) 20:34, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Aaadddaaammm put it best - but my main reason is the sharpness... gazhiley.co.uk 12:22, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
