Oooh Matron! The inimitable Hattie Jacques was a much-loved figure in British comedy from her work with the Players' Theatre in 1946 through to her appearances in 14 Carry On films and many appearances with Eric Sykes on television and stage. A woman who was conscious of her weight problems , she spent much of her career typecast into roles that played on laughs at her expense, from Sophie Tuckshop in Tommy Handley's It's That Man Again, to Griselda Pugh, Tony Hancock's secretary in Hancock's Half Hour. This record of her professional work has recently been split away from the main page as it was out of place there and not a full reflection of her work (and is, incidentally, more complete than any other single source of information available). Aside from that, we are now nominating this for featured list status because we believe that it now satisfies the criteria.   • "Jacques's" ugh. I suppose Jacques' is out of the question?!

  • On that note, it would be cool if you could get an International Phonetic Alphabet spelling of the pronunciation of her name, because I imagine few would think it was Jakes.
  • Last three paras of lead start "Jacques..." which is a tiny bit repetitive.
  • She was a welder. Brilliant!

  • I've not set any column widths on these, it's an auto fit thing depending on the screen width. I'm never sure which is the best approach to take with the widths, whether to fix them or leave them open! - SchroCat (talk) 21:24, 17 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Trimmed the dates out down to years only; the only Mrs left are those where the first name isn't known, so the Mrs is a convention that appears: it's also as described on the cast lists/sources. Comments Looks good. I have made a few edits here; please revert if you don't agree with them.
  • It seems odd to me to have Jacques's birth name in bold, but not the name by which she is best known. What's the reasoning for this?
  • Just so I'm sure, were Fumed Oak and Borgia both performed on the same day?

  • My only other concern would be the article meeting MOS:NUMERAL, which states that adjacent quantities should be written in different formats. Personally, I think it might be worth writing the series numbers out as words (e.g. "Series nine", "Series six", etc.) and maybe spelling out numbers of episodes as digits (e.g. "6 episodes", "10 episodes", etc.).
