Discussion[edit]
- I'd like User:Addshore's input on this. MBisanz talk 04:19, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Hmm. I will quickly link to this which as far as I can tell has the lists of articles you are trying to create without having to add a tracker template to thousands of pages. My bot is already and still constantly scanning every page in every list waiting for wikidata items to be created for them or for links to be added to wikidata. I don't see much point in duplicating the task but would prefer not to take action on this approval request myself. Back to you User:MBisanz ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 20:06, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- the difference between my bot and yours is:
- some of wikis like tl.wikipedia or os.wikipedia they changed their namespace aliases so bots can not detect them.
- your bot doesn't show pages which doesn't have item but mine add pages to none-item category so users can merge or redirect that pages.
- in my opinion it is not duplicate and my bot complete yours.
- in another point my is not only link remover it adds interwikis to wikidata also solve some kind of item conflicts Yamaha5 (talk) 21:00, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- If this is a long-term ongoing task, I see no reason not to have two bots. Wikipedia is volunteer and anonymous, if the bot is useful, having a second or backup bot or bot that deals with different Wikipedias not addressed by first bot is good idea. I think this should be tested. -166.137.209.143 (talk) 13:50, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I agree redundancy is a good thing. I'm not sure though if we want a bot adding the template, which predates wikidata. MBisanz talk 10:51, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- How are interwiki conflicts handled? Yes, if the template is no longer used, it should not be added. -166.137.209.146 (talk) 16:34, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
