The bot will also maintain an error log to alert me if it has any issues performing the task.
Discussion[edit]
That's an interesting list and I'm surprised that it isn't already integrated into fixes that AWB could do. →Σσς. (Sigma) 23:03, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@TyA: This seems to fall under Wikipedia:Bots/Frequently denied bots#Fully automatic spell-checking bots. For example,
- What would the bot do with typos in quotes, such as the Scooby Doo link in Craig Rousseau?
- What would the bot do with the CCCP link on 1992 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships?
- What would the bot do with the plexiglass link on SS-100-X?
- What would the bot do with the
[[Footbal (soccer)|football]]
link in Kissami (family)? (see WP:COSMETICBOT)

- I hadn't really thought of it as that, based on how the items were generated and the few ones I worked through with it. However with your examples, I can definitely say that I was wrong. From this I can say this should probs be closed. I could possibly work this into an assisted editing tool at some point. Thanks for your comments. ~ty(talk) 04:41, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- @TyA: I think this is a very useful task in concept, but as GoingBatty says, it really needs some manual oversight. We could reformulate this as a manually assisted task, or would you rather withdraw it? — Earwig talk 07:05, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- If we could integrate it into AWB, as it seems not to be already done, it would already be manually assisted and subsume the scope of this BRFA. However I'm no longer fully sure how AWB works. →Σσς. (Sigma) 10:53, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- @Σ: AWB uses the rules at WP:AWB/T, but intentionally ignores typos within wikilinks. GoingBatty (talk) 19:59, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Withdrawal - I am withdrawing this request per the reasons brought up above. ~ty(talk) 20:27, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
