Coreboot/VBT moved to Draft[edit]

I have moved Coreboot/VBT to Draft:Coreboot/VBT because it had a note that said "this is just first draft of the document, so, please, give some time for this page to shape up!". You can take as long as you need when the article is in the Draft: namespace. When it's ready, you can submit it for review at WP:AfC if you like, or move it yourself. If you do not understand what I did, or need help feel free to contact me on my talk page or ask the fine people at the WP:TEAHOUSE Mduvekot (talk) 03:15, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Zoran.stojsavljevic, I got your message. Since you said you have no idea how to send a normal message, here is an explanation: Help:Using talk pages. Hello,

I have mo idea why the messaging on WIKI is the rocket science... But it is?!

Anyway, please, keep my Video BIOS page as normal (as I explained recently).

Thank you, Zoran

Ways to improve Coreboot/VBT[edit]

Hi, I'm Mduvekot. Zoran.stojsavljevic, thanks for creating Coreboot/VBT!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. I noticed that much of the content of your draft comes from kernel.org/doc/html/latest/gpu/i915.html#video-bios-table-vbt Now I think, but I'm not sure, that the material from kernel.org is released under GNU GPL version 2, so perhaps it's not a copyright violation to copy it, but at a minimum it should be attributed properly. Please see Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources Copyright is complex, and I don't know enough about it to advise you properly. Perhaps you can ask at Wikipedia talk:Copyright problems.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Hello Mduvekot, I have edited the Coreboot/VBT page, and changed the first paragraph, adding necessary infos for better VBT understanding, I hope, now the page complies with WIKI rules.

Please, could you review my changes, and make/remove your top comment, if All Good?

Thank you, Zoran.stojsavljevic (talk) 06:23, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Have no idea even that I have created and modified such a page. Maybe I am hacked, after all. Even not sure what this page was about... Good that you deleted it. Cheers, Zoran

A tag has been placed on INTEL VBT (Video BIOS Table) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://github.com/ZoranStojsavljevic/Video-BIOS-Table-parser-assembler. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
