Orphaned non-free media (Image:FFL.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FFL.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. I read somewhere to type helpme and I would get help. I'm having trouble finding a way to contact someone, so hopefully this helps? My problem is that I tried to create a new article about a local business in my town that I feel is noteworthy enough to have an article (it's similar to Whole Foods, which has its own article, so why not this place?) I spent a decent amount of time preparing the article so that it was at least presentable (especially compared to a lot of stub articles) and I published it on June 3. It wasn't complete by any means, but it had some info and I was planning to eventually fill it out more over the coming weeks/months. Instead, I logged back on less than a week later and found that it had been deleted by User:Deb.

I have two issues with this.

1) I can't find a way to recover the work I had done on the article. I can't find the history, or whatnot, to be able to "fix" whatever was "wrong" with the article and republish it. Again, I had spent a decent amount of time (over an hour) on creating the article, so I really don't want to have to re-write everything.

2) I've looked over this user's talk page and it is littered with complaints about how she deleted things that people had recently published with no warning (just like she has done here). Is there any way to review a moderator and possibly revoke her deletion rights? It seems she is abusing those and shouldn't go around deleting new articles so quickly, not giving the authors time to completely finish them. Especially if it is not possible to recover the work that was deleted. I never thought to save it somewhere else, since I assumed wikipedia has a vast history section that stores everything, but if it does in fact delete everything that was written when an article is deleted, that is especially troubling to have moderators like Deb going around and deleting works for no reason other than she wants to. It's also very discouraging for new authors (like me, I have been a member for several years but this was the first time I tried to create my own article) - as having hard work be erased with no recourse makes me unlikely to want to put any time or effort into creating anything new again.

Hi. It's difficult to understand why you did not contact me directly to ask about this. When you looked at my talk page, you must surely have noticed the common factor between all the people who have complained about deletion of their articles, ie. they did not read the wikipedia guidelines and either have not fulfilled the notability criteria or have tried to include spam or advertising in their articles. If you read the guidelines, you will understand the deletion criteria, the speedy deletion criteria, and the rules for creating new articles. If you follow these guidelines, your articles will not get deleted.

If you want your article restored, just let me have some independent third-party references to show why Horrocks store is notable, and I will restore it for you to work on.Deb (talk) 08:19, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Aha. I have just noticed that you tried to ask me. However, what you actually did was to overwrite my whole user page with your question, instead of posting it on my talk page.
