Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Surfin' on a Backbeat. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 11:47, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm starting to think there must be a good reason why you remove all those reviews, but since there is no edit summary I can't figure out what it is. I'll probably need to revert my reverts later, please explain the reasoning.--Muhandes (talk) 11:51, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

discussion split moved back here from User talk:Muhandes. Please don't split discussions, it is best to answer where the discussion started.

I removed it because it was from a non-notable source. And i don't usually see any reason to add an edit summary. yawaraey (talk) 13:36, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries help other editors understand what you are doing, and it is good practice to always add something, unless the edit is self-explanatory, even if it is just "not-notable". In fact, when removing content it is almost required. --Muhandes (talk) 13:51, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
For the matter itself, I am not aware of consensus that http://www.laut.de/ is not notable, are these user reviews or a professional review? For firestream I found this archive and indeed these are user ratings and should be avoided. I added it to WP:ALBUM/REVSIT. Have you said something like "not a professional review" in the edit summary, it would have saved me some time. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 13:51, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seether Help?[edit]

Do you think you could help out with the Seether articles on here? It needs help from someone like you. Please respond on MY talk page. --How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Autographs Contribs 02:04, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, to start off with, the actual Seether article needs a lot of citations. A few of the albums need citations. Some of Seether's song articles are being labeled just post-grunge when all of them really should be post-grunge AND alternative metal. Some of the album articles don't have that much of a variety of reviewers. On this Nine Inch Nails' album article, Broken (EP), the album has several reviewers such as Allmusic, Los Angeles Times, and Rolling Stone.
If the articles looked more like Broken (EP) I think that'd be good. It appears that you have a lot more experience with band articles then I do so it seems like you could help out with this.
(I'm a diehard Seether fan.) Please respond on MY talk page. --How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Autographs Contribs 14:42, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, well do you think you could help to any degree? I don't think there's enough info out there for the Seether articles to be like Broken (EP) but I know the articles could be improved more. --How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Autographs Contribs 20:52, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't want to get into this argument, but regarding this revert, it might be browser specific, but on my browser the extra width is really necessary or the sales split on multiple lines. Just thought you should know. As a matter of taste, I prefer sales and certifications to be in small type, but again, I am not going to get into this, and in fact I am not even going to watch this page. Best regards and happy editing. --Muhandes (talk) 09:58, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There has been a misunderstanding. It is my fault. I must apologise. What I did in the pages of Qotsa and alex turner was a really bad joke. I wanted to see how long before someone would change it. I WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN. BUT: as far as Rubens Barrichello is concerned, I was DEAD SERIOUS. I AM A HUGE FAN. THE CHANGES WERE RIGHT. YOU CAN CHECK THE INDYCARS OFFICIAL WEBSITE FOR CONFIRMATION : http://www.indycar.com/ I WILL NOT FOOL AROUND AGAIN. BUT DONT RE-EDIT MY CHANGES IN THE RUBENS BARRICHELLO PAGE BECAUSE I FOLLOW HIS PROGRESS AND UPDATE THE STATS CAREFULLY. I HOPE THIS WILL END THINGS IN A PEACEFULL WAY. I DONT WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN AND I WILL GIVE YOU NO REASON TO HEAR FROM ME. THATS A PROMISE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. "Here and Now" (Seether) Confusion[edit]

Is "Here and Now" by Seether actually a single now? Because someone put the chart positions of Seether's discography page. I don't know where they got them from because I looked on some of the Billboard pages for Seether and it doesn't show "Here and Now" on there. http://www.billboard.com/#/song/seether/here-and-now/28031276 Also, Seether's official website hasn't said that it has been released as a single yet. I am quite confused. How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Sign Contribs 01:05, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sale certifications[edit]

Hi thanks for adding sale certifications to various Nirvana album articles. I noticed a few recurring issues, though. First, you need to include retrieval dates for all web references. Also, some of the links you provided were unclear, so I removed them. As certifications aren't sales charts, you shouldn't make them a subsection of the chart sections. Some albums don't have very many sales certifications, like Bleach (album), so I moved all that info to the prose; a table is only necessary if you are dealing with a lot of certifications. Also, when adding a reference to an article with an established reference style, your additions should match that style, per WP:CITEVAR. That last bit isn't too hard; you can pretty much just copy a cite used elsewhere on a page and then change the relevant title/author/date/etc. info for the new cite you wish to add. Non-free rationale for File:Bandmaidstartover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bandmaidstartover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Billboard Japan[edit]

Billboard Japan has the Hot Albums chart and the Top Albums Sales chart. I've noticed you are going around to band articles trimming the table headline to simply "JPN Billboard" and then using/mixing ranks from these two different charts. I'm not versed in Wikipedia guidelines concerning music charts, but I don't think that's appropriate. I was under the impression that Hot Albums was considered the main chart so I can see leaving that as simply "JPN Billboard", but whenever Top Albums is used the table headline should specify it. Also, your most recent edit to Lovebites just duplicated the Top Singles Sales ranking which was already there. Xfansd (talk) 00:55, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, those example you linked are fine in my opinion. Only other thing is that Lovebites' first two live albums currently use Top Albums ranks but the third uses Hot Albums. So we have to either switch the third to its Top rank and change the headline title, or add another row for their Hot ranks. Xfansd (talk) 01:28, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

about In My Darkest Hour by Megadeth[edit]

Hi there! Thank you very much for all your efforts in editing Band-Maid related articles. (I'm very happy because I'm a Japanese Band-Maid fan.) By the way, I've seen you editing hard rock and heavy metal related articles several times. If so, you know "In My Darkest Hour" by Megadeth. I found out that a draft article for this song (Draft:In My Darkest Hour) was being created in December 2021 and made some simple edits like adding categories and a music video. I was surprised to learn that the article for this song was not created and still remains a draft article because I thought it was one of their famous songs. However, since I'm Japanese and not a native English speaker, I'm having trouble figuring out how to edit it (That's why I use the DeepL Translator). I think I should move the draft article for this song to mainspace. Would you like to participate in editing it if you don't have problem? --Hatto (talk) 04:56, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Use of Metal Kingdom as a source[edit]

Hello Yawaraey👍! I noticed that you removed the Metal Kingdom reference on Dead Memories. I would like to say that I agree with your edit and I will not revert it, as you can see through my edit summary here. You said it is "user generated" and "unreliable". I agree with that statement, and I think I should inform you that the same website (Metal Kingdom) has been used as a reference for several articles, by other users, but I can't do anything about this, because anything I do will be labeled simply as "genre warring" even though I'm right. I ask you, politely, if you can take a look at the following pages: Killpop, Nero Forte, Demanufacture, As Ugly as They Wanna Be, Danzig 4... and believe it, there are more pages! but i can't remember them all. Please, take a look! SpaceHelmetX1 (talk) 04:02, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@SpaceHelmetX1 I have removed Metal Kingdom from the two Slipknot articles you presented to me, but I don't want to go through every article, I will add a request to add it to Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources later today. If you scroll down on the pages for "Dead Memories", "Killpop", and "Nero Forte", you can see that they were all added by different users. yawaraey (talk) 11:59, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the support! There was a pandemic of Metal Kingdom sources being provided, but now it seems that everyone has understood that it is unreliable and therefore should not be used. On Killpop and Nero Forte I wasn't the user responsible for it's addition. I will never again use the Metal Kingdom as a source, and when I see it being used I will remove it. Metal Storm citation[edit]

What's your opinion about Metal Storm website and its use as a source? Metal Storm is considered reliable per WP:MUSICRS, but I think only some reviews are considered reliable, cause per WP:MUSICRS "Only staff review from 2009 onward are usable, do not use guest reviews". Metal Storm has been used many times, even being used alongside Metal Kingdom, as you can see here. Similar to Metal Kingdom, its genres are clearly user generated, the album reviews were not used, but only the genres on the main page like this. In my opinion, these genres work like those in the Allmusic sidebar. We can see that such genres were repeated for all the group's albums on the website. What can I do about it? Am I wrong? SpaceHelmetX1 (talk) 02:07, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@SpaceHelmetX1 What you can do is try to get it added to the list of unreliable sources with a note that it should only be used for certain things, like what you stated above. You can add a request here. yawaraey (talk) 02:31, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Yawaraey Thanks! I will try to do this
