My Specific Concerns Regarding this article.

There is a total bias on the part of this article in favour of the author’s commercial interest in generating sales of a few of the subject’s artistic products which are presently in the possession of the author. There is also a complete failure on the part of the author to comply with the strict policy of a neutral point of view, which has led to disruptive editing involving bias and misrepresentation of the subject’s personal details, numerous instances of distressingly incorrect data and the most clumsy and ill-informed representation of her art production up to the present day, giving the impression that the subject ceased production or disappeared 44 years ago,(for example - the Notable Artworks Section ends in 1982.) I will provide a strong list of published references for the editors to use.

For now and for the purposes of editing I would really like the article to REVERT to an old revision still available at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Marie_Yates&oldid=940850027 which would be very much easier to correct, otherwise it is going to be a very long job for me with such a long document and so many inaccuracies. And I am very old. The Revision I suggest to get editorial help with revising is edited by SamanthaLujano99 (talk | contribs) at 01:11, 15 February 2020. The present address (URL above) is a permanent link to this revision, which will differ significantly from the current revision. It is much shorter than the current revision which helps. Hi Yatesm, if you would like to work on a draft based on a previous version, you can create the draft in your sandbox and propose the new version on the article's talk page (not here). Upon a quick skim I think I agree with you that there might be WP:PROMO problems with the article, but I would need to take a closer look to determine this. Hopefully, you can suggest some improvements to make the article better. If you have any questions, please go to the WP:HELPDESK or WP:TEAHOUSE. Z1720 (talk) 13:18, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So glad at your reply - but I am such a newbie that I do not know how to proceed - I have opened the sandbox but am lost as to how to create a draft based on the previous version that I suggested we work on - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Marie_Yates&oldid=940850027 Sorry - I know so little and have very few skills. Yatesm (talk) 09:04, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello - I have ploughed in and tried to make a draft edit to that previous version. I have probably got it all wrong as to how to proceed. Would you please just take a quick look at it (It is in my sandbox)
and let me know where I need to start again. I just brought up the Previous version and edited it as far as I could. Perhaps I should have done it line by line. If that is so then I will start again. Please do let me know what you think. Yatesm (talk) 11:57, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello - I have now spent many hours on this edit and hope you will take a look - my main problem is how to relate the sources to the text as they all relate generally. I have made the text as short as possible to allow for this. Is it enough please? I am rather at a loss for what to do next, Yatesm (talk) 09:04, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello - As a total newbie AND the subject of the article may I please ask you how to edit the submission when it is full of discrepencies, false facts and bias in favour of the author’s commercial interest in generating sales of a few of the subject’s artistic products which are presently in the possession of the author. There is also a complete failure on the part of the author to comply with the strict policy of a neutral point of view, which has led to disruptive editing involving bias and misrepresentation of the subject’s personal details, numerous instances of distressingly incorrect data and the most clumsy and ill-informed representation of her art production up to the present day, giving the impression that the subject ceased production or disappeared 40 years ago,(for example - the Notable Artworks Section ends in 1982.) I was advised by Z1720 that I could work on a draft from a previous version which did not contain the bad things and was short - which is what I am doing. Should I be editing it line by line do you think? Yatesm (talk) 17:47, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

April 2022[edit]

@Yatesm: I see above that you'd like to make changes to the Marie Yates article, but have had trouble. At this point it may be easiest just to post on the article's Talk page (link is at the top of that article) and request that others make the changes. I'm sure we would all like the article to be accurate. In the meantime, please do not continue to edit that article... there is a conflict of interest here, and your edits are also causing major formatting problems. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 13:58, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have indeed been posting on the article’s TALk page asking for help, but not receiving any offers only lots of conflicting advice advising me to do things in completely different ways just causing me confusion and ending with me deleting my efforts, and trying again blindly to edit.
Yes I have a COi and am also fully aware of article's status as a BLP and have tried to advertise this but fail to understand the instructions for “making a template”
I am the subject of the article, a very old subject (82) which is why I am finding it hard to even minimally edit and need help. As it is a Biography of Living Person I have become well familiarised with Wikipedia’s rules and regs with that,as well as the COi’s, as I am very keen to know the red lines and to keep within them. I understand from the Info that the Conflict of Interest does not bar me from writing something short minimal and neutral.to be used as a starter.
I feel that something must be done about the Marie Yates article - the bias is outrageously manipulative for the purposes of selling works of art,(not belonging to me) and contradicts all the References, reviews and articles in books about me.and the information about me is incorrect originating from a totally Commercial entity and the citations are out of order, dead or fake even circular. I am ashamed of it and wish it were about someone else.
I have written a very short text which is NOT promotional at all and IS neutral and have collected 6 citations to cover it, but can I get the hang of the editing procedures?…….No. If you or anyone you know of could offer any practical help with dealing with these two simple offerings of mine I would be so grateful. Yatesm (talk) 15:47, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You need to request changes on the talk page. This isn't really negotiable, you should not be editing articles about yourself. PRAXIDICAE💕 15:52, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yatesm Please check the article again, it has been edited many times for neutral tone since your original comments. I see no bias and no evidence of manipulation in order to sell works? If there are any problems please point them out using the article talk page. Theroadislong (talk) 16:13, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
